Danielle, lets take a look at your saturday night forecast october, firs hard to believe its officially spooky season out there. Lets get away for those of you. Heading out to this year, were tracking air quality on the moderate side for those of you in grass valley. Still tracking some hot spots where that mosquito fire is burning. But fortunately tracking good air quality for truckee tahoe city and even South Lake Tahoe out there this evening. And were going to see a lot of that fog bank out there, dense, low clouds and fog arriving overnight. Fremont 78 degrees as his nevado and half moon bay. 64 degrees for your sunday afternoon highs until we gradually warm up into the low 90s starting wednesday. Dan, back to you. Really incredible. How many people either were directly affected or knew somebody that was affected. In 2017, the tubbs fire that ravaged napa and sonoma counties was the most destructive wildfire in state history. About 6,000 buildings were burned to the ground and more than 20 people were killed. It took 4 months to contain every inch of the blaze that spanned 36,000 acres. Well, this week marks the 5th year since the top fire erupted on the hot and windy night and survivors. We talked with there still reeling from the past and living with the trauma today. But somehow the pain gave way to some comfort kron fours Ella Sogomonian has the story. Tens of thousands of people woke up to the sounds of sirens and crackling flames in the Early Morning hours on october 8, 2017 was a dark and comfortably warm night ferocious winds that pushed flames across sonoma and napa counties. People were forced to abandon their homes and the lifes a new within minutes. But this is probably the most catastrophic event ive ever been to in my life and its i think it will leave a mark on the community and myself for years to come. 5 years later, that sentiment holds true. We met monica bravo just days after her found grove home was one of thousands of buildings leveled by what was later dubbed the tubbs fire. She says people are still trying to get through the trauma together. Its still happening. 5 years later. Right. And then now we get together every other breath work. So its like everybody gets together. We can that we released, but were really connected. Bravo took her kids out to ice cream to kick off the weekend and enjoy some sunshine. But even then they couldnt help but be conscious of the dry heat and theyre like, well, lets just pray that it rains. I can actually feel the heat many First Responders learned that their own homes are consumed by the flames. Well, they work to protect other peoples property. Paul lowenthal with the santa rosa Fire Department was one of them. It was incredible sight to see how many people were focused you know, not just on their world situation but focused on making sure that they were continuing to respond to the needs of the community. A lot of people packed up and left the area altogether. But other statebacked to r build and bond with other survivors that ended up growing into a powerful sense of knowing that my community gave me so much. I wanted to give back and low with all says its and rose is now better positioned to confront a disaster today because of Lessons Learned in the tubbs fire. Theres just a bit to menace amount of approve months that have been made here locally. To make cities like santa rosa. Better prepared again for wildfires. That was Ella Sogomonian reporting for us tonight. Next saturday, Santa Rosa City and Sonoma County leaders are hosting a 5 year event at coffey park at 10 00am. The mayor board of supervisors cal oes director fema congressman Jared Huffman and senator mike mcguire. All going to be there. Other airports affected include los angeles, chicago and houston. News of uniteds plan to cut 12 of its routes comes amid reports of a Pilot Shortage affecting the airline industry. And now kron 4 sports. All right. Lets talk some nfl. The fortyniners hosting the rams in prime time on monday night for monday night football, of course at levi stadium. Theyll be led by Jimmy Garoppolo who is a perfect 6 and oh, against the rams in the regular season. Despite that jimmy g has been under scrutiny all week for what he said and might have rob lowe had several miscues in the fortyniners loss against the Denver Broncos last week he lost a fumble and stepped out of the end zone. Giving the broncos a safety following the game. He said some of these problems could be related to him. Not playing any ot as this offseason and also lack of any snaps during Training Camp because it didnt allow him to really be a sharp as he could be. All of this is true, but he should probably take a little bit more responsibility for his gaffes. Considering hes the teams poor play just like he always has. And even if there are some skeptics in the 40 niner faithful, he does have one fan in his corner and its none other than Los Angeles Rams linebacker bobby wagner. He gets the job done. He does what he needs to do. A lot of people. You know, look at certain passes or look a certain sacks or things of that nature. But in a im pretty sure he has a winning record. I believe so. You know, any took this team to the super bowl. You knows how to get the ball to the right people. You know the fast when you got is coming very smart communicate. So you got to respect a guy like that california rams and the fortyniners will be playing on monday night football. All right. Lets go to cal justin wilcox, trying get his team to win against Washington State today and pullman, but they couldnt get anything done on the offense until it was too late.
