One driver is dead this morning after a car crash on highway 101. This is video from the scene around 7 30 last nght. The accident happened at spencer avenue in sausalito. All lanes reopened just after midnight. According to chp, several callers reported the car went up a hillside on the right side of the roadway and hit a large exit sign. The driver died at the scene. People in oroville still concerned this morning that they may have to evacuate again because of todays heavy rainfall. Additional measures are being taken at the oroville reservoir to deal with todays storms. The department of Water Resources has increased the reservoirs outflow nearly ten percent. The temporary increase is expected to help balance water flow in and out of the reservoir. According to officials, the Flood Control at the spillway has remained stable. The increase in water flow is not expected to interfere with construction and debris removal efforts below the spillway. Once flows have been increased, officials will monitor the reservoir conditions using drones and crews on the ground. In the south bay. The Anderson Reservoir is above capacity this morning. Over the weekend, water started flowing over the spillway of Anderson Reservoir for first time in more than a decade. The Santa Clara Valley Water District has opened up the spillway. Water is rushing down the hill, creating a waterfall. This is what it looks like. It is the First Time Since 2006 that this spillway has been used. The Santa Clara County Water District is currently trying to get water levels down to 68percent as soon as possible. The Water District hopes that by releasing water from the spillway they can avoid having water spill over the dam. Strong winds knock two light poles onto two homes in san mateo. Pgande crews spent the day yesterday removing and replacing those poles. More than a dozen families were without power over the weekend after these poles came crashing down. Fortunately nobody was injured. Because of all the recent storms. Pgande has signed on 100 additional crews from other states to help repair damage all across the bay area. In the east bay. A busy road is plagued by potholes because of these recent winter storms. Officers say willow pass road has dozens of potholes. Some big enough to cause some serious damage to your tires. Three people are rescued during windy conditions on tomales bay. The Sonoma County sheriffs Helicopter Team rescued the three kayakers yesterday who were stranded in choppy conditions. Hundreds of students at cal poly have been evacuated after a hillside behind a dorm began to collapse because of all of the wet weather. The students were evacuated on saturday. Over the weekend, water started flowing over the spillway of Anderson Reservoir for first time in more than a decade. The Santa Clara Valley Water District has opened up the spillway. Water is rushing down the hill, creating a waterfall. This is what it looks like. It is the First Time Since 2006 that this spillway has been used. The Santa Clara County Water District is currently trying to get water levels down to 68percent as soon as possible. The Water District hopes that by releasing water from the spillway they can avoid having water spill over the dam. The wind and rain has knocked down a number of trees in californias central valley. Take a look. In stockton, this tree collapsed onto a house. And the hood of a car was smashed by this tree in manteca. In modesto, firefighters had to cut the gas lines to a house after a fallen tree started a fire. A 30yearold pine tree in sacramento split and fell on an Elementary School. No children were at the school, but an air conditioning unit was damaged. At another Elementary School nearby, a tree came down on a teachers car. In the east bay. A busy road is plagued by potholes because of these recent winter storms. Officers say willow pass road has dozens of potholes. Some big enough to cause some serious damage to your tires. All lanes reopened just after midnight. According to chp, several callers reported the car went up a hillside on the right side of the roadway and hit a large exit sign. The driver died at the scene. People in oroville still concerned this morning that they may have to evacuate again because of todays heavy rainfall. Additional measures are being taken at the oroville reservoir to deal with todays storms. The department of Water Resources has increased the reservoirs outflow nearly ten percent. The temporary increase is expected to help balance water flow in and out of the reservoir. According to officials, the Flood Control at the spillway has remained stable. The Sonoma County sheriffs Helicopter Team rescued the three kayakers yesterday who were stranded in choppy conditions. The three had been camping near point reyes the night before and did not anticipate the Severe Weather. No one was hurt, all three are expected to be okay. Happening right now. Hundreds of students at cal poly have been evacuated after a hillside behind a dorm began to collapse because of all of the wet weather. The students were evacuated on saturday. Because the hillside behind it is eroding and continues to creep closer to the building. The students were warned last week that they might have to evacuate. Then on saturday School Officials decided that the hillside was too unstable. In the south bay. Todays storm comes when mudslides and road closures continue to cause problems in the santa cruz mountains. Officials say black road is now too dangerous to travel on for those who live in the area. Previous storms caused mudslides on that road. And with more rain in the forecast. And the uncertainty surrounding the stability of the roadway, families are concerned about how they will get in and out of the area. People who live in the area are now working to convince the county to do a temporary fix to stabilize black road. Strong winds knock two light poles onto two homes in san mateo. Pgande crews spent the day yesterday removing and replacing those poles. More than a dozen families were without power over the weekend after these poles came crashing down. Fortunately nobody was injured. Because of all the recent storms. Pgande has signed on 100 additional crews from other states to help repair damage all across the bay area. Officials in Stanislaus County are monitoring the San Joaquin River this morning in case of flooding. They want to make sure the levee is holding up. This is what it looks like in Stanislaus County along the swolen San Joaquin River. People in the area are still dealing with flooding from previous storms and all the water is causing concerns for Dairy Farmers in the area. Many roadways are also closed due to flooding. Officers were conducting a traffic stop near 98th and las vegas avenues around 1 30 yesterday morning when they heard a gunshot. The chp closed the highway and the streets in the area to look for the shooter. According to officers, evidence of the shooting was found but the shooter was not located. Rick damigella takes a look at the damage. Weve had a lot of water and floods, but this is ugly. A soaked Northern California is bracing for several more days of relentless rain. As the southern part of the state dries out following downpours that left at least five people dead. On friday, a storm victim was electrocuted after a power line fell along an intersection in los angeles. Another person was found dead in a flooded vehicle in San Bernardino county. Authorities recovered a body from a river, saturday, after floodwaters receded. Others died following a Traffic Accident in san diego due to the wet road conditions. In the Santa Barbara area, motorists were even forced to abandon their vehicles. Kenny car flooded i was going to get out of there. It was too deep and my car stopped and i said oh crap. In one neighborhood, the storm uprooted two giant trees that crashed down on a couple of vehicles, caused structural damages and ripped out utility lines. Witness it was an oh my god moment and i was thankful i was alive and it did not come this way super scary and i am still shaking about it. Now there are fears that well see similar situations in the next 24 to 48 hours.
