Sherriff ahern says this loss is also very hard to take because it comes on the heels of another deputy dying, mike foley back in february. Ahern. It is too much too soon. It is really tragic. Say the bank may have opened up to threepoint five million unathorized accounts. Thats one pointfive million more than Bank Regulators disclosed last year. In a court filing today lawyers told a federal judge they believe the millions of accounts were opened over the last 15 years. A wells fargo spokesperson said this new estimation by lawyers is unverified and based on a hypothetical scenario. Lawyers are now asking the judge to approve a one hundred and ten Million Dollar settlement. vicki if you have State Farm Insurance you could soon get some money. About 250 thousand californians will get a refund of up to 55dollars for over charges made between december 8th and midfebruary. This only applies if you have homeowners or renters policies. The state insurance commissioner says he ordered state farm to cut its rates. But they did not comply. State farm instead filed a lawsuit against the rate reduction. In the meantime. A few miles away First Responders with contra costa Fire Protection district found this vehicle on fire on Juanita Drive in walnut creek this week there has been 7vehicles set on fire. 2 in lafayette, 2 in walnut creek, 2 in brentwood and 1 in martinezfire investigators are checking surveillance cameras in the area of crenscenta court and Juanita Drive for any possible clues. Rob . rob live thats right, 1000 volts of electricity are now coursing through the tracks that runthrough this and other south bay neighborhoods and vta wants to make sure people are aware of the danger. We wont see any actual bart trains running here in North San Jose until later this year but the Valley Transportation Authority wants people who live near the tracks to know that they have now been electrified and are dangerous. Stacy hendlerross vta from warm springs in fremont to berressa in North San Jose the entire corrodor has been electrified with 1000 volts of electricy. That means coming into contact with the tracks could be lethal. The entire corridor isgrade separated, which means it runs either over or under city streets, minimizing interaction with pedestrians and traffic. An offduty Alameda County sheriffs deputy died in a violent car crash. On eastbound interstate 580. The california Highway Patrol says, 51yearold sroeuy shuhroy khin ken was behind the wheel of a volkwagon bettle. Hit from behind by a tour bus carrying 51 telsa corporation employees. The crash happened just after seven oclock in the morning, just east of grant line road. The chp says, it appears khin ken either stopped or was driving slowly in the number two lane when the bus collided with him. Khin died on scene. Capt. Christopher sherry chp we still have to look at all of the physical evidence thats at the scene. Interviewing the driver, inspecting the vehicles and then we can put together a better picture of speeds involved mechanical things like that. pam right now, the chp says, it appears the bus driver was going the speed limit. But it is unclear why the driver could not avoid the collision. The chp says, criminal charges are not out of the question. As for the tesla employees. Tesla released a statement saying. All its workers were safe and accounted for. They were traveling from fremont to stockton in a contracted bus. All lanes of traffic reopened just before two oclock in the afternoon. steve tonight. Terisa Estacio reporting Alameda County sheriffs deputy srouey khin was heading home from here the santa rita jail when he died in a car crash. His boss, sheriff ahern says he remembers fondly, hiring khin nearly a decade ago. Sheriff greg ahern. He was one of the first lateral hires onto the agency. Khin worked at the jail and was heading home after a long 12 hour shift. Sheriff ahern says khin was a hard worker and putting in overtime to help his family, a wife and 4 children. The death of the khin comes on the heels of another deputy, mike foley who worked at the jail. Foley died after getting hit by a bus back in feburary. Ahern. It is tragic for Law Enforcement to have killed in a senseless way. Hard to put it all together. Khin had worked for stockton police. The fire broke out just after four in the morning in Montgomery County in texas. Firefighters say, two brothers and their sister were trapped on the second floor. They tried to recue the children but the flames were so big, they were not able to reach them in time. The fire, which spread to two other homes, caused the house to collapse. A 10year old boy and two adults are in critical condition. All suffering smoke inhalation and burns. Three Police Officers were also injured. As of right now. The cause of the fire is under investigation. steve a judge in pennsylvania has overruled a District Attorneys decision to not charge an amtrak engineer in a deadly 2015 train derailment. This is video from the scene of the crash that left eight people dead and more than 200 injured. The judge ruled there is probable cause to charge the amtrak engineer. Brandon bostian. The ntsb investigation found that bostian was distracted by radio conversations about other trains being hit with projectiles.
