>> i cannot really speculate. he said before that he would step down when he could no longer perform the duties to whatever reason that is that is why. >> what does this mean for the company? >> he is obviously the visionary leader and shown that he can put together an incredible team. it takes a lot of people to execute perfectly like they have been doing for a lot of years. they created a smart phone industry, the tabloid industry is theirs for now probably for quite awhile more. i think it is in good shape as far as that goes. they have a strong team. but what they do a couple years down the road i think there will be more of the question. >> steve jobs is such a visionary for his company will you tell us about him cook who will take over? >> not allowed. on the visionary front, he does not give up all the time and talk at the big annual yvette. he talks on there, on their stock calls and so forth. but clearly, he has the blessing of steve and he is a top-notch executive like asset. the big success for apple, a leading the division and the execution but they're a very sharp team and they know they're doing. i have no doubt that tim cook can take on from here. >> had apple has a powerful influence, when you look down the road without steve s. ceo with him being on the board do you think that he was still have the same type of influence? >> i think he will be involved in some of the big decisions and some of the huge road maps decisions that they made over the next several months or years. he will have a bigger imprint on some of that step and he will not be involved in the day to day. i would be very curious if he would appear in some of the events. it is rumored that the iphone 5 is coming out in october, will he be there for that? it remains to be seen at exactly how much he will be involved. he has not been as much as involved in the past or this year as well. >> thank you for your observations this evening. >> multiple east bay earthquakes in less than 12 hours. two of them were 3.6 magnitude. the first coming at 11:36 p.m. right along the hayward lineup right about 3 mi. northeast of san leandro. then there was a 2.3 aftershock, just five minutes later last night at 11:41 p.m. that was in the same spot and then this morning a third earthquake, this was a 3.6 like the first one at 11:36 p.m. last night and also about 3 mi. northeast of san leandro. they went almost 6 mi. deep, and officials say that the effect of the quakes were felt throughout the bay area. certainly throughout the east bay and also on the peninsula and in parts of san francisco. the bay view and other neighborhoods reporting this shake as well. some viewers as far north as marin said they felt it. we talk with experts about how unusual it is to have to earthquakes so close in size and location in such a short amount of time. >> it is somewhat unusual but yet it has had several times in the past. >> this area has been hit like this before. in 1971 there were two or earthquakes over the magnitude of 2.3 near the same spot in one day. in 1987 they got hit with to earthquakes around the same magnitude with into the five days. it >> we have had these events since 1971. >> they say that hayward fault that runs from san jose up to the east bay has magnitude three events about once per month but some parts like where the most recent have hit are more active than others. >> there are areas that appear to have at least in our lifetimes more defense than other areas. this area is one of those areas that has made treasons about once per year. >> but why that is remains a mystery. >> the seismologists confirm that these local quakes have nothing to do with the one that hit the east coast. it did rattle a number of californians. >> of last night i was at home and i was sitting in my bed of a sudden i heard the blinds and shake and i was not sure if it was an earthquake. >> some people felt now one, but two separate earthquakes. one on tuesday evening and one on wednesday morning. >> of course i was not expecting it but my coworker had walked by and then we were looking at each other like should we ducked under the desk? >> these are the necessary things in your dastard prepared this kit. --in your disaster prepared kit. >> an attempted robbery in the east bay leaves 1 suspect dead and two others injured, an armored car and a police officer does all unfolded this morning. teresa estacio has been on the scene all day she joins us live with the latest. >> this is the scene right now on future role drive, take a look we will zoom into the you can take a look at the crime scene that is just of the street here. now the coroner's office and just left a short time ago and here is the reason why they were on the scene. this is video of the body of one of the suspects that was fatally shot during the second gun fight that broke up between 2 police officers and a suspect. an officer was also injured during the second gunfight he suffered a gunshot wound to his shoulder. police said this all started around 9:15 a.m. and they receive word of an attempted robbery from the wells fargo at the shopping center involving an armored vehicle. you can see the vehicle right there, two suspects approached an armored truck a female suspect open fire. now that suspect fled, because of that law enforcement shot down all of the off ramps to the shopping center and they also closed off nearby stores and parking lots. at hours later, the police said this still a developing story and did not--and this is still in the early stages. >> the second suspect apparently left the scene after the shooting took place in this attempted robbery. we are unaware of whether or not how he got to the hospital that he went to but he went to doctors hospital and was treated and then lifted to another hospital i cannot release any information about the suspect right now. >> are they mail?
