C. Transit carries about 180,000 passengers. Mostly in the east bay. So you can imagine the impact that it would have. Obviously the bart strike affected about 400,000 people so its about half but still a large amount of people that would be impacted by desperate that all comes down to salary and benefits as it always does in these cases. We had a chance to talk to some writers yesterday about a potential strike affecting ac transit for it i heard a bus drivers talking and try to do things are right and they understand the plight of the common guy and they know how important transportation is for people. as i said at a strike could start as early as 01. The contract actually expired june 30th and the same day as a bart unions contracts expire. Ac transit put their strike on the back burner but apparently things are not going well as far as contract negotiations go. And they had given notice that they could walk out about 70 hours from now. 17.
