In recent weeks, every day it seems like were getting more and more patients. Kori albi is a covid unit intensive care nurse and supervisor at st. Alfonsus. She says hospital staff including nurses are also testing positive for covid. It doesnt seem from Contact Tracing that 2 is coming from the hospital setting. As coronavirus cases continue to rise, hospitals across the country are urgently in need of travel nurses who work on temporary contracts for higher fees. Requests are being made in all 50 states with over 29,000 job openings last week for travel nurses. Lincoln University Police chief gary hill is busy preparing to open a Police Academy on the historically black colleges campus this month. It puts an academy right where we have a large amount of minorities living. So it gives them easy access to it. The Jefferson City missouri campus is just two hours away from ferguson. There was a 2014 police sthooting of Michael Brown led too protests and demands for change around the country. Hill says lincolns academy will focus on both recruiting and training. I think its very important to understand that when we try to figure out why do we have so much tension between the Minority Community and Law Enforcement, is to understand the history of Law Enforcement.
