More than a dozen people were hurt one critically when a stage collapsed at a high school in indiana. It happened during a performance of a musical called american pie. Cast americans had just rushed on the stage for the finale when the structure gave way. Students fell several feet into the orchestra pit. You just see this 12foot drop and just students being covered in huge pieces of wood and debris and, you know, people just screaming for help. The injured were rushed to three area hospitals. A woman shot by Sonoma County sheriffs deputies after leading them on a highspeed chase remains in Critical Condition this morning. It started Late Wednesday night in windsor ended with gunfire in sebastopol. The chase started when deputies tried to stop a car that was going the wrong way on highway 101. Driver slipped away sped south and pulled into a parking lot. She backed up into deputies who then opened fire. Three deputies had minor injuries. A suspect who tried to rip a necklace off a woman is at large. Fremont police say this man cased a womans house. When she got out of her car wednesday night he pounced. But then she fought him off and he fled in this honda accord. Its gold with tinted rear windows and alloy rims. The car was missing a front license plate. Hayward police have released a photo of a man accused of trying to abduct several High School Girls in hayward. Sa gar patel faces charges of attempted kidnapping in a string of cases that began in february. All the cases the girls were able to provide descriptions to police. Investigators used a sketch artist to help track down sagar patel, who was arrested on monday. Police say patel used a fake gun and targeted the girls as they walked home from tennyson and hayward high school. The girls did fight back. All ran to safety. Women who work for a major Bay Area Company are getting raises. Joe vazquez reports, the ceo looked over the numbers and found a troubling pay gap between genders. So he is now taking the highly unusual step of systematically raising the salary of his female employees to make sure they are paid equally. This is a really exciting day at salesforce. I hope it sends a message to the industry in general that salesforce is not only equal opportunity employer, but that we walk the walk. As mark sayre reports, the numbers are highest in the silicon valley. Reporter here in downtown san jose, bar managers say sales are steady and solid. But theres plenty of drinking going on elsewhere, too, and researchers say Santa Clara County is showing the biggest gains in socalled binge drinking in all of california. If you do, like, like more than five drinks or Something Like that, like, pretty regularly . Reporter victoria got it right. Binge drinking is five drinks on one occasion for men and four for women. In Santa Clara County alone, the study shows binge drinking by women is up 35 more than for men. But the why of it all is not a question that research can easily answer. The top binge drinking county is in wisconsin. The drought has San Francisco rethinking how to heat nearly 200 city buildings. For decades water has been heated to make steam to heat city hall and other nearby buildings. A quarter million gallons of Drinking Water a day ends up in the sewer. The company that runs the heating loop nrg is looking to start using some nonDrinking Water and bart may be the solution. 65million gallons of ground water is pumped out of the system each year. The station has had a problem with water intrusion since it opened in the mid 1970s. And so we have been pumping it out and trying to get rid of it since then. Nrg says there are no firm plans with bart yet and it will be expensive. A missing hiker found alive in chile as ash and smoke filled the air from a nearby volcano. And if you are hopping on the bay bridge, no westbound roadwork but eastbound may hit some approaching the Center Anchorage and no delay in either direction between the city and the oakland area.
