This visit from snow official comes as the city of oakland was forming its own plan to keep the raiders in the east bay so this is certainly turning up the heat. San antonios mayor and other san antonio officials are set to make a pitch today to raiders owner mark davis and other team top brass. Them the raiders to play at the alamodome. At they want the raiders to play at the alamodome at first with the possibility of a new stadium in the coming years. The raiders owner went to san antonio over the summer to feel out the city as a possible new home and today the delegation from san antonio is expected to bring the results of an Online Survey about this possible move. Theres going to be a small group of dedicated people that understand what an nfl can do for a city and were going to give our best pitch. But lets not forget the other plan in the works to keep the raiders in oakland. A san diego investor has indicated interest in funding a new stadium for the team as part of oaklands coliseum city plan to replace the current stadium. Well hear from him in the next halfhour. Blake benthall was arepresentsed as federal agents raiding his home in the mission district. The fbi says benthall, who went by the online name death con, was running silk road 2. 0 since last december. There might have been more than 20 agents involved in the raid. There are fbi agents and a van full of their stuff and a lot of commotion. They were one of the quieter neighbors so i have been here for three years. Besides the raid in San Francisco, european authorities report at least 16 other arrests in the crackdown on silk road 2. 0 and similar websites. The original silk road was bused last october. Ross ulbricht who is accused of running it was arrested at a San Francisco Public Library and he is awaiting trial now. The feds say it was also offering all sorts of illegal goods and activities. You dont find these websites by simply using google to look them up. Ucberkeley police are working yet another case of alleged Sexual Assault at a fraternity on campus. An anonymous tipster telling police that a Fraternity Brother drugged and assaulted a woman in a halloween party. Police will not say which fraternity that is. Now, cal is under particular pressure now to stop Sexual Assaults on action. The school is taking actions from betty yu reports things are beginning to change. San diego woman now under arrest accused of stealing a chp crewser and leading police on a wild chase. Officers arrested the womb for driving a stolen vehicle. She was in the back of a patrol car managed to get into the front seat start the engine and off she went. Officers chased her down and cornered her in a busy intersection. Rideshare to the rescue. A lyft driver chase down a group of thieves and got his foot run over for a womans purse. The driver says he heard a loud scream and saw four girls stealing a womans purse. He ran a website but not just any website, mind you. Cate caugiran has the federal affidavit that spells it all out. Reporter another silk road may turn into a oneway street to prison for this guy, 26year old blake benthall. Feds say he was a mafioso of a criminal cyber world one who sometimes wears shutter shades and goes by the user name defcon. He was indicted for running silk road 2. 0 from this victorian in the mission where security cameras watched. There were 10 to 20 or more than that fbi agents. Reporter the feds sent a small army to nab him. A handful of them had bulletproof vests on and they were all sort of crowding around the door. They closed off the street so you couldnt walk down the block. You couldnt ride your bike. You couldnt drive. Reporter the fbi says more than 100,000 people used silk road 2. 0 to buy drugs like weed, ecstasy, lsd and heroin and also fake passports, drivers licenses, and lessons on how to hack email accounts. The site sprang up after the feds busted the original silk road last year. The alleged mastermind was arrested inside San Franciscos glen park library. He used his public name on a message board. San Francisco Police officers using cameras on a golden gate transit bus now to understand just how a jogger was killed yesterday. 51yearold laurie helmer killed in a crosswalk yesterday was running near van ness and lombard after 6 a. M. She died at the hospital. The man accused of kidnapping a philadelphia woman sunday is wanted for abducting a teenaged girl last month. Officers arrested 37yearold Delvin Barnes in maryland after using gps to track him down. Investigators in virginia believe barnes kidnapped the 16 yearold girl and set her on fire. That girl escaped and is now in the hospital. Sf police are investigating a deadly shooting this morning happened just before 9 00 last night in the citys western addition. One of the victims was found by police with several gunshot wounds and is being treated for lifethreatening injuries. Another shooting victim went to the hospital himself. That victim has died from his injuries. Happening today, the San Jose City council will hold a special meeting on Public Safety. Crime has been a growing concern in san jose usually one of the safest big cities in the nation. Councilmember rose herrera pushed to have the meeting include comments from residents from the evergreen district. There is a rash of home burglaries there last month. The meeting starts at 9 00 this morning at city hall. And its now 3 days since election day and we still dont officially know who the next mayor of san jose will be. Sam liccardo has declared victory but dave cortese is not ready to concede because thousands of mailin ballots havent been counted. Last month the san jose Police Officers association predicted as many as 200 officers would leave sjpd if liccardo was elected because he supports pension reform. Yesterday cortese a Santa Clara County supervisor met with officers. Whether im county supervisor or mayor im going to stand with you to get equity so we dont lose any more Police Officers. We want people to hang in there long enough for that to happen. A lot of people are thinking about leaving including me. Liccardo said he work to improve relationships between city hall and Public Safety workers. The white house is not confirming or denying reports that the president wrote a letter to the Supreme Leader from iran asking for help fighting militants there. Cnn says the letter to Ayatollah Khamenei points out the countrys shared interests in defeating isis terrorists. The Obama Administration officials will only say there is some communication between the u. S. And iran. But the conversations do not include joint military operations. The Labor Department just released numbers. They say employers added 214,000 jobs in october. The Unemployment Rate fell slightly to 5. 8 . Back in september, there was a huge surge in hiring and that really sent the Unemployment Rate down further to 5. 9 to its lowest level in six years. I just read an interesting stat which said that this is the 49th consecutive month of u. S. Job creation. That has not happened since the 1930s. So we will see how it all impacts the markets. The opening bell rings in about an hour from now. And for the second day in a row, stocks are at record highs. The dow jumped 70 points yesterday closing at a new high. The nasdaq finished 18 points higher. We do have some troubling new details today about that massive airbag recall. Japanese manufacturer takata reportedly knew that those airbags were dangerous 10 years ago but covered up the results of secret tests. That is according to two former employees. They tell the New York Times the testing was done at takatas american headquarters in michigan. Four deaths have been longed to those airbags and federal safety regulators have reopened their investigation. Residents in a luxury condo discovered an unwelcome visitor. Kiet do reports out of san jose that someone is buzzing the building with a drone. Itsle is youll see only on 5. Come on. Reporter she just moved into her tenth floor condo in downtown san jose but lately the milliondollar view is as beautiful as it is unnerving. An unwelcome visitor has taken to the skies. Neighbors snapped a picture of this drone buzzing outside their windows. It was hovering like literally probably two feet from the window. Reporter its been by three times in the last month at all hours of the day. A little creepy . A little bit. Like, you know, at 10 30 at night, its not fun to have someone flying a drone up and down your building. It was kind of right here, um, right by the bird feeder. Reporter this neighbor saw it. David has now covered his windows. For the last two weeks we have had to look over our shoulder and, you know, you never know if somebody is going to be looking in the window at you. Reporter drones buzzing buildings has been in the media this year. In vancouver, this drone was captured on video flying near highrise at night and peeping drones have become a topic on comedy centrals south park. He was right in the middle in this park. Reporter back in san jose, when the guy kept coming back, residents were ready with their cameras and called police. When they rushed down and tried to confront him, he took off on a skateboard. I think the guy was standing somewhere around here. Reporter San Jose Downtown Residents Association is now pushing for a City Ordinance to create a drone buffer zone around highrise buildings. Respect peoples privacy. We dont like this. We do not feel comfortable when you are walking into your balcony and see a drone in your fight. Reporter sam liccardo says shaming the man might work just, as well. I think the important thing is simply to ensure that whoever this person is, they know that they are being watched and i think certainly Media Attention is a good thing in that regard. Reporter and so there is no dronespecific law in san jose but San Jose Police say if they have catch up with this guy, they will go after him with an ordinance that prohibits flying remotecontrolled aircraft in a public park. Reporter anytime you fly a drone or model aircraft, anytime you do that within five miles of an airport, you have to let the airport know. Mineta san jose is just a mile away from here. We are going to take a look at the roads right now because it is very foggy out there and it is causing some slow conditions. So heres the san mateo bridge. I promise its there. Very limited visibility. Use caution. 14, 15 minutes between 880 and 101. So the good news in all of this, theres no major accidents to report but again we are dealing with fog this morning. Heads up as you head out. So elsewhere this morning, if you are headed to pacifica, daly city, along highway 1, 280, some foggy conditions there, as well. Over on 101, you can see lots of green on our sensors so if you headed for an early flight at sfo this morning, no problems, youll make it right on time. City airport no delays on 101 in both directions. Friday light along 880. Heres a live look at conditions through oakland. Getting better through there but again still foggy in spots but moving along nicely through that portion of 880. Chp just issued a fog advisory for the bay bridge. It doesnt look as foggy in this shot but once you hit the upper deck of the bay bridge, if you are headed into San Francisco, limited visibility on the lower deck. So you will need extra time there. Traffic is already stacked up, they have not officially turned the metering lights on just yet, but im sure thats coming soon. Seeing backups on the eastshore freeway as well towards the bay bridge. Marin county no delays on 101 southbound into San Francisco. Golden gate bridge, so far traffic moving nicely through there. More on these foggy conditions, heres lawrence. Very interesting just a few minutes ago at the Golden Gate Bridge really socked in with the fog but now they have started to clear out a little bit but that fog is very thick in spots. So if you are headed out the door this morning, watch out for that early on. That will be the major weather concern for the day. Out the door we go. We have some of that fog over parts of San Francisco and it is right down on the surface. So true fog outside. Some of the visibilities less than an eighth of a mannheim. Be very, very careful. Now, that should begin to lift as we head through the middle of the morning and by the afternoon lots of sunshine coming our way and these temperatures again running above the average. It should be very mild into the afternoon. And i think even warmer over the weekend as we could see a return of a couple of temperatures moving back into the 80s. But we are starting out with that morning thick fog plenty of sunshine by the afternoon and the rain track staying well to the north but theres a hint that could change toward next week. Around the bay area, with High Pressure overhead, the air quality starting to suffer so we are starting to see the pollutants building up in the atmosphere a little bit so air quality probably going to suffer right through the weekend, as well. 70s into the central valley. 60s into the monterey bay and that patchy fog going to slowly break up in the bay this morning maybe a couple of lingering clouds along the coastline and then maybe patchy fog early tomorrow morning. But thats about it. Otherwise, we are looking at some very nice weather ahead. Friday afternoon should be spectacular. Looking mid70s into san jose. 73 in fremont. 68 in pacifica. Mid to upper 70s in parts of the east bay. And then inside the bay. 73 in oakland, 73 in san leandro. Sunris 6 42. Sunset 5 05. Next couple of days, we are going to see plenty of sunshine. Should be a fantastic weekend. If you like the sunshine and mild weather, youre going to see it this weekend. Then things change. Back to normal by wednesday. Theres actually a storm thats developing out there, unfortunately its so far out at this time of the year its hard to tell anything. But there is a hint that there might be some coming our way. Investigators say the driver of a van abruptly switched lanes while trying to avoid hitting a car but ended up in the officers path. The accident prompted a temporary shutdown of all northbound lanes backing up traffic for miles. A gunman kills a man outside a 24 hour fitness yesterday in antioch.
