Reporter well, investigators could be here for a while this noon. But police tell us that the 7 yearold boy was from this englewide neighborhood and he was side neighborhood and he was running down this hill trying to catch the train. San Francisco Police responded to the intersection of san jose and lake view avenues. They say two cars were traveling southbound on san jose avenue when an 11yearold boy ran down lake view in front of the cars. Once stopped, the other slammed on its brakes. The boy did a pivot move off of that vehicle landing in thed in lanes of san jose northbound lanes of san jose avenue. That train did strike the 7 yearold boy. That boy was pinned underneath the train and dragged about 40 feet. Reporter now this is being treated as a crime scene and investigators are trying to figure out what happened. Try the situation we have to do everything we can to make sure were working with the family and were working with the police and were working with the Fire Department to found out what happened here. Reporter police say the boy and ran across the street and was trying to couldnt stop. [ inaudible ] this is horrible. Military helicopter is missing after a second massive earthquake hits nepal. On board are six marines and two nepalese soldiers. The death toll is well over 30 now with more than 1,000 injured. In nepals parliament, legislators ran to safety during the quake. Nepal is still trying to recover from a 7. 8 magnitude earthquake on april 25th that killed more than 8,000 people. They are now the first big city in california to make the water cuts mandatory. In a couple of weeks nearly everybody in the south bay will have to face mandatory water cuts or else pay some very stiff fines. Its the first time this has happened in a generation since the drought of the late 80s and early 90s. Here are the rules, businesses and homeowners will be give an month to month allocation. Thats based on the average of the users in 2013. You will have to cut your usage by 20 of the 2013 average or else pay a fine over the amount. No details on the penalty yet. This affects the one million customers in 80 of san jose the state Public Utilities commission is expected to approve these plans and San Jose Water Company will be holding a Public Meeting at the end of may or early june. And then implement these tough new rules shortly thereafter. In downtown san jose, kiet do, kpix 5. Water rationing is already working in santa cruz. Last year that city implemented tough restrictions and penalties and saw drastic reductions. A robbers break into a san jose home twice but this time, the intruders are caught on camera and today still on the loose. The invasion was recorded on video last friday in the citys evergreen neighborhood. Armed with knives, the wouldbe robbers search bedrooms upstairs until they got to the room where three family members were hiding. They called police which scared the robbers off. The owner decided to install the surveillance cameras after his home was invaded the first time. San jose mayor sam liccardo wants the citys Police Officers to be outfitted with body cameras by next spring. Liccardo wants to shorten a test run with a goal of having all officers on patrol wearing cameras by june of next year. The cost would be about 1 million for some 500 officers patrol. The city and the Police Officers union are now close to resolving concerns that officers rights and privacy are protected. Right now in san jose, some of the best cyclists in the world are pedaling their way through the south bay. Stage three of the amgen tour kicked off just over an hour ago. Cyclists are heading north towards livermore before circling back over mount hamilton. And its the only bay area stop for this years race. Todays stage will cover 105 miles and roads will be closed along the route affecting traffic today. The event wraps up on may 17th in los angeles after cyclists cover 724 miles all across the state. Windy weather is to blame for several cars getting slammed by scaffolding this morning. It happened around 5 00 a. M. Outside the audi dealership in burlingame.
