San francisco crews are busy prepping the streets for the massive storm. Their main focus is unclogging the storm drain to keep the streets from flooding but with 2300 catch basins throughout the someday. Authorities are city. Authorities are asking the public for a little bit of help. Asking and soliciting the citizens of San Francisco to help participate in trying to clean the catch basins because thats the number one cause of localized flooding. Authorities say if you need help with clearing a basin. Contact them at 311 to report the problem. Gearing up for high winds and the possibly downed power lines this week. Reporter pg e crews are getting ready for the upcoming storm which is expected to cause flooding and downed power lines. Anytime you have winds like this yeah potential for lines to come down. It would require employers doing business with the county to pay employees at least 19 an hour. Starting in july next year. Contracts with Community Based nonprofits would be exempt from that requirement. San Jose City Council expected to approve a tax on airbnb stays today. The 10 tax ail plies to all airbnb rentals in the city and also legalize the technically prohibited practice of home sharing. Protesters in berkeley are changing tactics now as they continue to protest the Police Killings in new york city and ferguson. The goal is to disrupt transportation and as kpix 5s Michelle Griego reports, in the midst of the demonstration came the miracle of life. Reporter last night, protesters marched on to 80, halting traffic in both directions for several hours. While the freeway was closed, a woman went into labor. Have a female in labor stuck in traffic. Shes going to the lake tahoe. Reporter Emergency Responders were able to navigate through the gridlock and locate the pregnant woman. She was transported to a local hospital. The chp arrested about 150 protesters. They should focus on the people who are out there for the right things and the officers and police should get those people who are looting. Because theyre criminals who are endangering our community. Reporter before those arrests, protesters staged a peaceful sitin at the Berkeley Police department. Even though some wanted to do more. We are and we cant mark easily up that street. We should force our way up that street. Peacefully, peacefully. And let them police us how theyve been. Reporter protesters plan to be back tonight. Of course thats Michelle Griego reporting. And baby on board. A southwest flight from sfo headed down to phoenix had to take a quick detour after a woman went into labor. The baby was born shortly after takeoff today on flight 623. Luckily, a doctor and a nurse on board to help in the delivery at the flight landed at l. A. X.
