We saw four of his friends and family members take the stand speaking about how good a person he is and how he is a reformed criminal and not a danger to society. No cameras were loud at todays federal bail hearing. Chow is charged with Money Laundering and conspiracy to sell stolen liquor and cigarettes. The charges themselves are not violent. But as the judge pointed out, chow has a criminal past and ties to chinese gangs. Yes, he was a gangster yes, he went to prison. Yes, he committed a number of crimes but the whole theme is that he has reformed himself. Reporter now, shrimp boy does have an ankle monitor. He also has a detainer from i. C. E. , that is the immigration and customs enforcement. So if he did get grand bail here in federal court, he would be immediately turned over to the feds. Thats were the judge said he is not concerned about Raymond Shrimp Boy Chow being a flight risk but more so a danger of the community because of his criminal ties. The suspect is this man, Terrence James hardy. Police say he punched an 89 yearold woman and then pulled her from his toyota. This all happened on sunday outside a drugstore on san pablo avenue. Call El Cerrito Police if you see him or know where he is. They will respond to anonymous tips, as well. Some new details this noon. Jahi mcmath will get her honorary diploma after all. The 13yearold was declared braindead after complications from surgery last december. Her family wanted her school to honor her with the diploma. After initially denying the request, the school agreed today to award it. The driver whose truck crashed into a bus carrying comedian tracy morgan is in a new jersey court now. Kevin roper pled not guilty to a charge of vehicular homicide. A man died in that crash. Morgan remains in critical but stable condition. Police say roper was awake for 24 hours before the crash. Investigators say it was a 15yearold boy who shot and killed a fellow student at a school near portland, oregon o he was heavily armed. The shooter apparently took his own life. But there is a hero. Brent weisberg has the story. Reporter the gunfire began at 8 a. M. Wednesday morning at Reynolds High School less than a half hour east of portland. The chaos was captured on Police Scanner reportings. All we have at this point is possibly wearing a flak jacket. Original reports said a black and red Motorcycle Helmet armed with an assault rifle. Reporter two were killed including the gunman, the victim 14yearold Emilio Hoffman was found in the gym locker room. He met with his parents this afternoon. They want to you know that emilio was a great kid. And he was loved by all. Reporter multiple police units quickly arrived on scene. Students filed out with their hands in the air including this person who heard two of the gunshots. We all ran into the weight room hall and just hid and locked all the doors and there was just a bunch of gunshots everywhere. Reporter the suspect was a student at the school. His body later found in a nearby restroom. He apparently committed suicide. Physical Education Teacher was graced by a bullet, not seriously injured. His actions may have saved the lives of others. Todd wristler despite being engineered was able to make his way through the office and initiate the School Lockdown procedure, despite being injured. New at noon now, a rescue operation is under way right now in the south bay at a creek there. Fish and wildlife workers and others are trying to catch and save as many fish as possible. The steelhead trout are running and they are trapped in a creek near gilroy that is drying up. A small electrical charge being used now to nudge the fish into the nets. They will be released three miles upstream. Water in the creek is usually much higher but because of the drought, its very low. Along those same lines, a popular Tourist Destination in Southern California is getting hit by the drought. Tonight, the low clouds and fog make a return even some drizzle toward the coastline, cooler weather ahead for tomorrow. High pressure kind of backing out of the way. You have this low thats approaching the coastline. That will deepen the low clouds and fog along the coast. That means cooler weather for the bay area. By the way, we have a hurricane brewing out in the pacific. Its christina right now just off the coastline of mexico sustained winds of 75 miles an hour so just really at hurricane strength. It could very well strengthen though over the next couple of days. The good news is it pushes out over open waters. The bad news some of that moisture may end up in the baja area so if you are head there is toward the weekend be prepared. You may see some storms there. In the meantime the low clouds and fog expected to move onshore as we head into the nighttime hours and surge well onshore maybe all the way into the delta so going to be a slow burnoff tomorrow probably the coolest day of the week and then temperatures come back up. Numbers in the south bay into the 70s. 50s and 60s along the coastline. East bay temperatures up in the 70s. Some low 80s and then inside the bay 67 in oakland and 58 degrees and cool in daly city.
