We are going to be breaking records this weekend. If you are flying, be prepared because major airports across the country are increasing security following the terrorist attack in turkey. How many people are traveling for the 4th of july . 43million americans may travel nationwide in california. 4. 9 californians will travel. Thats the highest number since 2002. Of those 4 million will take a road trip and 600,000 will fly so when is the best time to hit the road, when is the worst time . Heres the answer. The ride to work just got more expensive for some caltrain commuters. Starting today, the daily parking fees at stations goes up from 5 to 5. 50. Monthly parking permits are also jumping from 50 to 55 a month. And parking at the belmont station which had been free is now going to cost 5. 50. That includes golden gate transit. Fare increases for ferries, as well. Fremont and south hayward area, bart will be shut down this weekend just for that portion between fremont and south hayward. There will be no service for maintenance but they will have bus bridges in place in. Bart is on time with no delays. Bay bridge very quiet. Metering lights are still off. Where is everybody . Fire crews from oakland, berkeley and cal fire joined forces to knock down a brush fewer in the east bay hills. You can see the smoke coming out of the top of grizzly peak there. The fire started just before the 5 00 commute yesterday evening near fish ranch road above the caldecott tunnel. Neighbors say that area is particularly fire prone. No word on what caused the blaze. Nearly 2,000 firefighters are on the front lines of a wildfire burning in placer and el dorado counties. The socalled trailhead fire is only 12 contained right now. More than 1500 acres have burned since the fire started tuesday afternoon. One woman who lives outside the evacuation zone isnt taking any chances. So we just passed. No motive or suspects in the shooting. A teenager is in the hospital this morning. He was hit by a car while walking his dog in dublin. It happened just before 9 00 wednesday night. Police say an suv lost control jumped the curb, took out a metal pole and then came to a stop after hitting a tree. The pole hit the 17yearold. The drive backed up and took off. He kept saying wheres my dog i think at one point he even tried to get up to go look for his dog. According to the family that teen has a lacerated kidney and four fractured vertebrae. Christie has made a number of appearances with trump on the campaign trail. In chico a small plane heading to fight fires had its own brush with flames on a tarmac. The aircraft had to make an Emergency Landing and it got smoky. You can see the tires of the plane caught on fire as the aircraft hit the tarmac in chico. Investigators say that the 4 person plane just le the airport for a Wildfire Mission when pilots suddenly sensed trouble with the landing gear. The plane was carrying 2,000 gallons of fuel but had to make a quick landing. The pilots kept their cool. Pilots were veterans well trained they handle the situation very well. They were all calm and collected when they got off the aircraft. They followed their procedures. None of the crew were injured during the rough landing. In San Francisco on may 1, 2015, the minimum wage rate was 12. 25. Today, its now 13 an hour. By this time next year, it will reach 14 an hour. And the rate will finally hit 15 an hour two years from today. Sunnyvale and emoryville are following in a similar fashion and will add increases increments tally over the next incrementally over the next few years. Minimum wage has been a hot topic among the presumptive nominees as we know and its something that they now actually agree on to an extent. I approve of what happened here in california where the governor and the legislature voted to raise the minimum wage and i wanted to make sure that women get equal pay for the work we do. But still seeing some nice speeds heading to the maze, southbound 880 looks like traffic is moving okay near the coliseum. You will see some slightly slower speeds into hayward to the san mateo bridge but no accident so thats good and traffic is moving well considering. It is friday light on 880 right now. Trains will be singletracked between the south hayward and fremont stations starting at 8 30. Then tomorrow service will be completely shut down. Federal regulators are looking into the first deaths in teslas selfdriving car technology. This man was fond of posting videos of his tesla on autopilot. The car is doing it all myself. He could be behind another brutal attack. 23yearold delonte hart walked into a theater playing the shallows according to authorities and jabbed adam lou sierra stabbed adam lucero. The man is reportedly recovering after surgery and police say hart may also may be behind the attack of a homeless man in santa rosa. The man was stabbed 50 times blocks from the Movie Theater. Hart is a person of interest in that homicide. An East Palo Alto man decided to stock up on fireworks. Yesterday police unraveled his plans. Michael fields was busted yesterday when Law Enforcement showed up at his Gardenia Court home. The 54yearold was arrested during a raid by East Palo Alto police and the bomb squad. Investigators say they found 600 pounds of fireworks in fields home. They could have been done terrible damage. Some of them can go through 10 to 15 discharges sparking all kinds of colors for several minutes. Police officers say they could have put his neighbors in serious danger. The home he was this is very close to other homes on both side. If the fireworks went up in the home, he probably would have blown up his own house, knocked those next door off the foundation and started a fire. He is being held on 600,000 bail and his home is red tagged. Another black eye for the San Francisco police department. A federal judge says that theres substantial evidence that officers targeted blacks during drug stings in the tenderloin. California attorney general Kamala Harris wants to get to the bottom of the unusually high gas prices in california. She issued subpoenas to four california refiners, chevron, exxonmobil, tesoro and valero. She wants information on gas supplies, pricing decisions and maintenance schedules. Consumer groups have accused the companies of keeping gas prices artificially high by shutting down refineries when it wasnt necessary. More fallout from a bay area Law Enforcement sex scandal. Deputy Ricardo Perez has resigned from the Contra Costa County sheriffs department. He could be facing a criminal investigation by oakland police. Contra costa county sheriff David Livingston released a statement saying, although this case involves one deputy out of the over 1,000 Sheriffs Office employees well not tolerate a single breach of the public trust we work so hard to earn. This is in connection with a girl who claims that she had sex with more than 2 dozen bay area Law Enforcement officers. Meanwhile, a Livermore Police officer has been placed on leave in connection with the same case. More lane changes are on the way on the Golden Gate Bridge. Earlier this month, the fourth northbound lane was added between 4 to 5 p. M. On tuesday through friday. Thats created significant backups for southbound commuters. So starting on tuesday, the four northbound lanes will only last halfhour from 4 to 4 30 to balance out the traffic on the bridge.
