The worlds crookedest street closed down again to traffic today and again, it was a mess. Its the second weekend closure along the windy section of lombard. But instead of driving tourists away, it seems to be creating a lot of foot traffic. [ laughter ] look at all those people. The weekend closures are part of a month long rime aimed at addressing gridlock complaints from people who live on lombard. 280 will be shuttin again wednesday night northbound. Police are investigating whether alcohol was a factor in a headon crash that killed a woman and baby in concord. It happened around 11 00 last night. A Police Officer saw it happen, tried to save the baby, but the infant later died at the hospital. The woman died at the scene. Five other people suffered major injuries but all are expected to survive. And a fire and explosion knocked an oakland Apartment Building off its foundation this morning. 17 people were displaced by the fire, no one though was hurt. But police are looking for two men witnesses saw walking away from the scene on 17th street. One of them reportedly had burns. Investigators think some butane canisters exploded causing the fire. New tonight, Governor Brown has signed a measure repealing a new law that would have required california food handlers to wear gloves. The no hands bill was set to take effect on tuesday. It was intended to prevent disease transmission. But many chefs and bartenders worried it would slow down the food preparation process.
