Sarah blackwood is a musician with the canadian band walk off the earth. She is seven months pregnant and boarded a flight to vancouver with her twoyearold son. He was having a fussy day. Im mark sayre, kpix5. Tonight, police say this is if man who held people hostage at an arco station in antioch yesterday. Horatio gutierrez. He is 35 from newark. He released the two hostages and came out of the station smoking. Police dragged him away and off to jail. He faces numerous charges for the alleged allday crime spree which police say included carjacking. Well tonight, we can take you inside that arco station. Gutierrez and the station owner and the manager were holed up in the office. The owner sat in the chair, the manager next to him. Gutierrez sat on the file cabinet. The owner watch as he negotiated with police. He was telling police, get the damn car here. Reporter he says gutierrez was smoking weed and appeared to be high on something else. They did attempt to escape, but a door was locked. In the end, nobody was hurt. Just a few blocks away from that gas station is a neighborhood where tonight one family wants to take care of a big problem. And they want to take care of it themselves. But the victims family says speeding and side shows persist and they are ready to take matters into their own hands. And then these blue dots are where they drug him over here. He was laying in the middle of the street. The state assembly has a bill for motorcycles going between cars but they can only ride 15 miles an hour faster than the flow of traffic. We talked to one driver in san jose tonight. I believe lane splitting is important for motorcycle riders as long as it is done responsibly. One of the reasons we do it is to be safe. If a car rear ends a car, it is a bumper that gets broken.
