Live, from the cbs bay area studios, this is kpix5 news. Three guys rob a bank and then everything goes sideways. Tonight, inside the wild final gun battle. Juliette goodrich is in stockton tonight at the scene where it ended in a very dramatic way. Reporter the scariest part is these robbers took three women hostage on this wild ride and shootout. One of the women is dead tonight. The other two are in the hospital. [ sound of gunfire ] reporter witnesses say the shootout looked and sounded like a war zone. It was over 100 shots. The back window had the gun out and they were shooting at the police. Reporter it began when three suspects left the game of the west in stockton with gun to the heads of three female house hostages. They were petrified. Their face were white. They were so scared. Reporter the robbers stole a Bank Employees suv making one of the female hostages drive. The pursuit spotted on several Traffic Cameras along the way. Cars riddled with flying bullets along with police cars and the suv. They were constantly fired on with high powered assault rifles. Reporter one of the hostages was shot and then thrown from the vehicle. A second hostage was thrown from the car when the chase ended in the middle of the street. Officers exchanged gunfire with someone inside the suv when it ended. A hostage and one of the suspects died at the scene. It appears they used the third and final hostage as a shield. Reporter stockton released this police of a picture of a assault rifle. While the investigation is ongoing, witnesses who saw it all unfold have some questions. We want to know could the chase have been shortened. What if other people got shot and killed through all this mess. Reporter three suspects total, one died at the scene. The other two were taken to the hospital where one later died. It is still an active crime scene right now and the coroner has arrived. In stockton, juliette goodrich, kpix5. Police have not released the identity of the hostage killed but tonight family and friends say it was this woman. Misty. She was a customer in the bank, a wife and a mom. Tonight, a person is under arrest for impersonating security screening. He gave women private pat downs. Betty yu has more. Reporter ken, this man was not an employee. He was not in a uniform. He was in khakis and a blue polo shirt and he was up to no good. A man suspected of having one too many drinks posed as an airport screener at sfo. Authorities say he lured two unsuspecting women, both foreigners into a booth for a pat down. How did he pull it off . The man was a ticketed passenger who went through the Security Check point. He went to an airport lounge and spent a few hours drinking and that is when the trouble began. He may have swiped plastic blue gloves to look the part. The 53yearold then returned to the screening area and convinced a passenger who had already been screened to go to a private booth. What happened inside is not clear because she disappeared to catch her flight. But then he did it again. This time the security screeners took notice. This is wild. When i have a quarter in my pocket, they catch it. A guy walks in, he starts putting gloves on and patting women down . What is tsa saying about this . Reporter tsa isnt assaying a whole lot. It is a strange story. You expect security to be tight here. But an official says nothing like this has happened before. They do contract out their services so they do manage a private Security Company who hires the screeners and as far as that arrest goes tonight, ken, that man is facing a public drunkenning charge, but he could face much more serious charges. To me, it is a rogue federal judge deciding his personal philosophy will allow him to override the United States Supreme Court and that is not how the criminal Justice System works. Georgia police have reopened their investigation into the death of tichelmans exboyfriend. He died of a Drug Overdose last year.
