But only today do they say they finally found the money to get the job done. Bridge district general manager today announced a funding plan for Suicide Prevention net. Cost is 76 Million Dollars. How will the Suicide Network . 3 and a half miles of marine grade steel wire line both sides of the golden gate 20 feat down from the walkway in 20 feet across. If someone were to jump to the net the impact would injury them. For whatever reason suicide people dont want to hurt themselves they want to die. Thought of jumping that a steel net down 20 feet has proven to be completely effective in whole host of other locations. Second time crews have damaged or destroyed native american Archeological Site in mendocino county. Caltrans building a bypass around the town of will its. Just last friday that the federal government ordered work be halted because of environmental issues. Caltrans says crews are still allowed to work on a vye deduct in the middle of the construction area but much of the work on the 6 mile long project was ordered stopped immediately by the u. S. Army corps of engineers. The construction will fill in more than 40 acres of federally prosecute texted wetlands and seriously impact 20 more acres. You can seat issue in the pictures. This is a major wet land area in the construction site last may. And now this is what it looked like in may of this year. The damage is so severe that caltrans is required to restore 50 acres of wet land in other areas and thats where the problem comes in.
