Just to have coast here you go. We have got green on the screen. A couple of lightning strikes detected in this storm system. An indication its starting to strengthen. In the wider view, you see this ribbon of cloud cover extending well off the coast. That is a lot of moisture thats aimed right in our region in the next 24 hours. On the storm impact scale we get you into monday, moderate to heavy rain, a very high concern for flooding, along with damaging winds possible monday evening. Storm concerns, urban and creek flooding very high along with friese coming down. Even mud and rock slides very high along with power out ans. Well look at the timing in a finer detail and how much rain you can expect where you live in our full accuweather forecast. With all the rain coming it is a race against the clock in orinda where a landslide is putting power lines in danger. Pg e crews are working along highway 24 and wilder road. A Power Transmission tower is threatened by the slide. It is in a remote area. Abc7 news was in orinda as the helicopter lifted the portable light earlier today. A Property Owner spotted the slide a couple of weeks ago and engineers have been putting together a plan how to shore it up since then. It hasnt reached the high voltage power yet. If it does there is concern it could affect the power system. Pg e crews will be on this project for a while. They are going to be working through the night. They were working yesterday as well. We are going to continue working on this project until its complete as long as its safe. She says there are redundant power lines. On the chance the transmission tower does fail it should not affect customers. People across the bay area are getting ready for a full night and day of rain starting in just a few hours. In san jose, the guadeloupe river is still at normal levels but officials are keeping a close eye on it. Pg e has out extra crews ready to restore downed lines and respond to any outages. Here they are repairing poles in san mateo and back in the city along 37th avenue and anza street. A car rammed into this wooden pole, snappig it in half. In palo alto this is what the weather has done to a part of a road. Its quickly eroding, creating a hazard where traffic passes above loss truncos creek. In East Palo Alto potholes are problem. We are getting ready for the storm coming up here. We are loading up all the bags trying to get all the potholes in the road filled. We have flow going so we dont have water building up on the side of the road. Reporter this man is using sandbags to make the rhodes smoother. We have drainage ditches but they cant handle the amount of water so we put these out. And the heavy trucks try to keep it packed down and. Midday, on and off downpours with the pops of yellow. Same thing monday evening to 5 00. Its not until late monday night that the heavy rain moves out of here and we taper to lighter urs show. Future tracker rainfall, north bay, two to four inches of rain in a short amount of time, 24 hour window. Santa cruz mountains, three to five inches of rain. That will cause issues there. South bay, leeward side, one to two inches. San francisco, oakland, concord, livermore, hayward, two to three inches of rain. Because its coming in such a short window a flood watch is in effect through monday night with heavy rain falling likely flooding will kur. Rapid raise rises on our streams and rivers. Rock and mudslides as well. Winds right now. Its breezy. Gusts along the south bay and along the coast, 20 miles per hour. Right now we are under a wind advisory across the region through monday afternoon where winds could gust over 45 miles per hour. Do not be surprised first thing on your monday because future tracker wind gusts are showing it may not be all that breezy for the first part of monday. Certainly monday night watch the winds krampg. By 11 00 we are seeing frequent win gusts over 40 miles per hour. Its for that fact monday afternoon into monday night a high wind warning go into effect this the areas shaded in orange. There we could see gust 45 to 60 miles per hour. Downed tree limbs and Power Outages are also a concern. Accuweather sevenday forecast, it is heavy rain and wind in the evening.
