A grass fire burned dangerously close to a Mobile Home Park near oakland road and hd street along the river bend family park and san jose municipal golf course. You can see a few residents there, one with a hose, trying to keep the flames at bay. Crews attacked the fire from both sides of the creek to protect those house. There was another fire in san jose tonight, a limousine with at least six members of the Red Dragon Cartel band on board burst into flames while traveling south on 880. Sky 7 captured video of the charred vehicle on the side of the roadway. The driver noticed the vehicle on fire and immediately pulled over to get everyone out. It appears the fire started from a short in the electrical system. No one was hurt. A 10yearold boy is recovering after being hit by an suv. He was riding his bike to school for the first time. The victim suffered a broken nose, injuries and a concussion and required reconstructive surgery. He was sentenced to 90 days in jail and face as civil lawsuit from the victim. The brother of kate steinle, the woman who was shot and killed on pier 14 in San Francisco opened up today to abc7 news about the suspect accused of killing his sister and the plans for a permanent memorial to be built in her honor. Abc7 News Reporter chris nguyen has a story you will see only on abc7 news. Reporter for this proud brother from the east bay, brad steinle doesnt shy away from showing his love for his late sister, kate. She was the strongest of all of us. She had a strong permit. She had the little and drive and a free spirit. Reporter kate was shot and killed while walking with her father at pier 14. An undocumented immigrant will now stand trial for murder. And the steinles say a San Francisco sheriff is to bme. He has overstepped his boundaries as far as sheriff and has put the community in harms way. And it resulted in kates death. Reporter the family says they are not against sang wary city policies and their original intent but they have filed a lawsuit against the sheriff and federal authorities saying something needs to change.
