A rough commute for drivers trying to get in and out of phoenix this morning. An asphalt truck dumping its load. And dps is trying to track down the driver who just took off an hitting a driver stranded on i 17. A Good Samaritan stopped to try and help him. Somewhere in the process, the driver was hit. He troopers think the other driver got off the i17 near bethany home. They are looking for a white chevy short bed pick up with a custom tailgate and possibly front end damage. Police say hes behind a shooting on i10. This is Leonardo Gutierrez rodriguez. Heres his mug shot. He shot a car while standing on the woman is still out there somewhere. And the bullets shattered a cars windshield. A woman inside suffered minor injuries. All new video of firefighters checking out the damage done to a mobile home in phoenix. A boost in monsoon moisture across the state is bumping up the humidity. And thats also going to keep the Storm Chances in place through the day today. Temperaturewise well be below average the next few days in part today because of the boost in humidity. Notice the scattered clouds lingering across the valley. We were tracking showers in last hour. And looking at light sprinkles under the thicker clouds. The bulk of the rain fizzling out or moving to the northeast. And the valley quieting down. We had a few spotty showers and storms to the south. And overall fairly quiet in central arizona. Well keep a chance for storms in the forecast as we go into the afternoon. 90 and muggy. Hes was attacked and it was captured on video and hes claiming that the school and police are not doing enough about it. I spoke with the parents of one of the girls who was accused in the attack. I get home and theres shots going off. And i came outside after they stopped and kids are just running. The two teens are in serious but stable condition. And police were able to catch up to the white suv and detain that driver but the search is on for the black mercedes sedan and the people inside. If you have any information, two people died saturday night. A Family Member found the bodies. Still no word on the cause of death and no names have been released. Mcso saying there are no outstanding suspects and an older man lived in the home by himself. We continue to get details about a shooting. It all started with an attempted robbery in the parking lot. Two men met there on saturday night to complete a sale they started online. Seller, the victim fired shots at him. The suspect returned fire, grabbed the merchandise and took off on a red motorcycle. As we look to the south. A lot more sunshine. And over the next few hours, well see the mostly sunny skies before the Storm Chances kick up this afternoon and evening. Desert doppler is winding down despite the showers we tracked through mesa thunder. Those showers started to lose intensity and now a few pockets of sprinkles northeast of Fountain Hills. I was tracking some areas of rain near florence and those also fizzling out although under the thicker clouds, still a little bit of green showing us light rainfall tracking to the northeast up towards queen valley. And we had showers south of eloy. And not a lot of lightning with northeast. And as we look in northeast arizona, the storms that rolled through the Northeast Valley and payson this morning now lifting into northeast arizona and seeing lightning in the northeast pocket of the state as well. As we go through the day today and our atmosphere heats up. The monsoon moisture increased. That will give us is chance for more storms this afternoon. You can see that those dew points have gone up over the last 24 hours across southern arizona. Our dew points now sitting in the 60s. Its going to feel muggy and thats going to contribute to the increase in Storm Chances. Were tracking an area of low pressure working down the california coast. That area of low pressure will boost the monsoon moisture ahead of it. By tomorrow, the Storm Chances start to trend down as we tap into drier air. Shot at storms tomorrow. By wednesday, Storm Chances starting to clear out. Today looks to be the better day for storms in the phoenix metro. Tomorrow the chances start to wind down and then we clear out by wednesday. By this afternoon, be on the lookout for more storms, especially in the areas to the east and southeast. And across pinal county, that will be the focus for Storm Development this afternoon and evening. Well watch for that afternoon and evening. A quieter night ahead. And tomorrow more storms on the mogollon rim and a slight chance of a stray storm in the valley. And by wednesday we clear them out completely. Our chances at 10 to 20 through the afternoon, again, that 20 bumps up between 4 00 and 6 00. Today be on the lookout for strong storms. And the Storm Chances in the forecast because of the boost in monsoon moisture. Across the phoenix metro. Things are quieting down. Like showers in florence and in areas to the southeast of us. Stronger storms west of globe. And this particular cell producing quite a bit of lightning and small hail as it moves to the east. Its tracking at 40 Miles Per Hour moving to the east. And strong winds in the globe area are a possibility. And we have heavy rain southeast of dudleyville. Those storms are still strong of the valley. And we could see more as we go into this afternoon. The best potential for storms will be across southeast arizona and that includes maricopa, casa grande, florence, and queen creek. Those will be the focus areas for more storms this afternoon. And future cast will show you the storm potential will be best across the southeastern pocket of the state. And also through eastern arizona, the White Mountains, and window rock. And a pinal county. I wouldnt rule out a storm that could move through central phoenix as we go into this afternoon and evening. Chances at 20 as we go through the day today. But again, keep an eye on the sky and well have to watch for the dust threat too with the increase in moisture, the Storm Chances possible later on. As we go into tonight. Things are quieter. And tomorrow, better chances valley. All in all we start to dry out tuesday to wednesday. The most accurate forecast for this afternoon. 90degrees in humid. And warming to 98 de2 00.
