A wide range in temperatures. Be dressed for just about anything. And then as we head through the forecast, going to see the rain. One is a disabled vehicle right there around van ness where it turns toward 101 and interstate 880. They all mirj there. It cleared up seconds ago. Im going to say the disabled vehicle may have cleared some lanes. May have sloesing toward the bay bridge toll plaza, but look how light and easy the drive is now. This is 6 02 right now. A double stabbing overnight in downtown san jose. Alabama muden near 87 close to the childrens museum. Thats video from overnight, thats where we find pete suratos live this morning, downtown san jose, to bring us up to speed on the investigation. Good morning to you. San jose police just cleared the scene not too long ago, but in the past half, we have cleanup crews that are here following the double stabbing. Now, i did speak with police, and theyre telling me the two victims may be transients and theyre still looking for a spuspect in all of this. Youre looking at some of the video from earlier when this took place. Police got reports of a double stabbing in the area around 12 00 a. M. And found the first victim near the guadalupe river. The second victim was found closer to where were standing at locust street. We do know the victims were taken to the hospital with nonlife threatening injuries so they are expected to survive. Now, theres no specific description of the suspect outside of him being a male, but according to san jose police, this is still an ongoing investigation. Were live in san jose. The three men rushed into the store off main street and took off with three laptops and 18 iphones. Collectively worth thousands of dollars. The suspects did not appear to have any weapons on them. Police are still looking through Surveillance Video to try to identify those men. Happening today, a 50yearold felon accused of kidnapping and assaulting a 13yearold girl is expected to be arraigned. Investigators say Timothy Lee Marble met a young runaway at a nappy gas station last friday. The next day, marble called 911 himself to say the victim jmped from his moving truck. When officers found the girl, she told them she had been drugged and repeatedly assaulted. This morning, police are looking for a groper. A man accused of inappropriately touching women on the San Francisco muni line. Take a look at this photo of the suspect. Police say he would inappropriately rub against unsuspected women. Victims start posting warnings about the man on the app next door. One woman filed a police report. Some riders say theyre keeping more alert. Im definitely aware of my surroundings. I try to sit in a position where i can see everybody around me and i can kind of monitor whats going on, try not to have my face in my phone. Police say the man has been seen on the line several times. Metro stations back up and running today after yesterdays terror attack in st. Petersburg. A bomb tore through a subway train underneath the city, killing 11 people and hurting nearly 50. The russian government says they believe it was a suicide bombing but they will not release the name of the suspect. President Vladimir Putin was also visiting the city at the time of the attack. Local news now. New this morning, Palo Alto Police are looking for a man who they say was prowling. Two incidents happened on sunday night within hours of each other. The first was about 8 20 in a College Terrace neighborhood. A Woman Told Police a man was trying to get theicide of her home. Then, shortly after 11 00, a woman in Evergreen Park also called police saying she found a man standing in the bushes of her yard looking inside of her home. New this morning, the death toll now stands at 58 for an alleged chemical attack in northern syria. This map shows the area where the attack took place. Human Rights Groups say 11 children were also killed. It is said be one of the worst poison gas attacks in the country during their sixyear civil war. Happening today, a proposal that could dramatically change the way that pressure comes for criminal defendants to show up in court. Its going to get its first hearing. Instead of requiring suspects to post bail, county officials would decide whether to release them based on their risk to public safety. Some groups oppose this bill. 6 06 right now. This happened at a construction site in el cajon yesterday near san diego. You see the aftermath there. Workers will building a new car dealership at the time when a 6foot cinder block wul fell on workers. One person managed to escape, but another was killed in the collapse. All free and clear now for harrison ford. The faa finishing its investigation into the actors scary landing at John Wayne Airport also in southern california. Back in february, ford was coming in for a landing when he ended up flying right over the top of a packed passenger jet that was waiting to take off at the time. The actors Attorney Says the faa will not fine ford and he will not lose his pilots license. 6 13. Amazon has launched a new service to make it easier for people who dont have a debit or credit card to shop on their website. Customers can display a bar code from amazon cash at a participating retailer and deposit that cash direct leinto their amazon account. This is out ahead of the storm system that be here as we head into thursday afternoon and definitely widespread on friday, but look at how big this thing is. It connects all the way out there into the pacific near hawaii, with some subtropical moisture. Its going to bring in heavy rain. It starts off with spotty light showers by thursday afternoon. All of us seeing some rain by friday morning. During that morning commute, it is going to be pouring, and also for the friday afternoon commute, even on saturday, as you make some plans, were still going to see some rain. And this weekend will not be anything like the last. Were looking at the potential of getting at least a half inch of rain for most of the bay area. Could be closer to one to possibly two for the north bay and santa cruz mountains. Heres what to expect. Winds picking up for friday. Well also have the concern of some downed trees and some street flooding, but no major river flooding expected. Testing for liver damage is usually an invasive process, but now, new technology can check for liver damage using a noninvasive fibro scan machine. All patients would feel is a little cold wet sensation and some pressure. The scan machine combines ultra sound with sound waves to test for liver damage. Doctors say it could also be used to show cirrhosis and check liver fat. It can also look to see how fatty someones liver is so it looks for fatty liver disease. Now, the technology typically used to test for hepc, is the most accurate way to test other than a biopsy. 6 25. Amtrak reaching out to passengers after an incident on the san jose bound train. Back in december, a train started jolting along the tracks between sacramento and davis. One passenger had minor injuries. Amtrak had not released many details on what happened until the Sacramento Bee published a report. Now were learning it was caused by human error. They said the main reason there was no detailed explanation is because the investigation was in progress. Amtrak has still not said what caused the incident, but they report the train was traveling nearly twice the speed limit. It is one of the best ways to remember the happiest day of your life, but nbc bay area responds to a newlywood who couldnt get pictures from their wedding. Chris chmura is here with their story. Tommy and emily rented a photo booth for their wedding reception this past may. They rented it from hot shot photo booth and paid the company 600. White women make 75 cents on the dollar, black women make 63 cents. Latinoen were the worst off making just more than half of what men do. Working moms only 70 on the dollar. The institute for womens policy Research Estimates if the pay gap were to close and women got equal pay, it would add about 513 billion in income to the economy. Of course, the more money that people have, the more money that people spend. That is the benefit for everyone, not just for women. California saw intense flooding, road damage, and plenty of broken bridges. The total estimated cost to fix the roads in california at 860 million. One of the largest repair being the phifer canyon bridge in big sur, which is estimated to cost more than 26 million. Some problems for smart train testing in the north bay, according to the marin independent journal. Crews are working to shore up the hills near the tunnel. There was a landslide near the tunnel in january, and there are concerns that dirt could cover the track if theres storm. In yerba buena park. Also, exploring new ways to keep pedestrians safe while walking. An effort to fully eliminate traffic related injuries and death. At 12clerk 30, city leaders plan to talk about whats already being done and what must be done to achieve that goal. Governor browns bold 50 billion gas tax plan to repair roads and bridges has cleared its first major hurdle, but it faces another key test on thursday. The Appropriations Committee approved the measure yesterday. In a rare legislative appearance, Governor Brown provided his own testimony, talking about the urgency of this funding. The roads are broken. And theyre getting worse, and theyre not going to get better unless we get a significant injection of money. All right, it is also a significant vote. You need two thirds of the legislature to pass new taxes. The governor last week introduced his plan in concord, thats the video youre looking at. The plan would boost gas taxes about 12 cents per gallon and create a new fee for electronic vehicles. That measure will be voted on by the state senate on thursday. Baseball is back. Now, we have finally reached the half hour mark. No incidents for the upper east shore freeway, and oakland is pretty much at the limit for the other times.
