Police say at about 9 30 last night, they responded to a report of shots fired in the area. A man slumped over the steering while of a car. Police found the victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound and pronounced dead at the scene. We dont have any information right now on a suspect or suspects. Nobody is in custody at this time. Were trying to locate witnesses and gather evidence. Reporter the identity of the victim has yet to be released. Flames erupted in Redwood Estates yesterday afternoon after a car caught fire and ignited nearby brush. The fire spread to about two and a half acres. Firefighters nearby quickly evacuated neighborhoods as a precaution. The flames snarled the evening commute, and could cause a headache for the morning rush as well. The fire mostly contained now. Firefighters say one southbound lane of i17 will remain closed, so youre urged to avoid that area if you can. Environmentalists around the world are saying yes to oakland, which gave an emphatic no last night to a new plan. The city refused to proposal for a new coal shipping hub that would have marked the largest on the west coast. Well, thats clearly the opposition. Now there were some supporters of the coal plant making some noise, too. Oakland City Council Members voted unanimously to ban bringing coal by rail to the army base. It would have been shipped around the world. Council members argue that the negative Global Impact outweighed the prospect of thousands of new jobs. A break in the case, theyve landed several arrests in an unsolved homicide case after serving several search warrants. Three men sitting in jail this morning after San Francisco Police Officers busted them as they tried to rob these tourists. Watch it happen right there. It happened saturday afternoon in russian hill. The Surveillance Video shows the suspects hopping out of a car and trying to rob three women as they were walking along the street. One of the women, takes off running. The other two have their bags stolen. But as the men try to drive away with the goods, the undercover Police Officers pull right up in front of them and all three arear arrested. On their person, they found a stolen gun. The gun is stacary, because americans are a bit dumb, because of their gun laws. That stolen gun is from louisiana. The undercover Police Officers were in the area investigating car breakins. One lane of southbound 17 for a couple of miles shut down through Redwood Estates, and this is because, not because of the fire, but when they did shut down the lanes yesterday, they discovered three trees dangerously close to the road. We did speak with california firefighters this morning. They have three engines on scene of the brush fire in Redwood Estates to make sure it does not flareup again. It started yesterday afternoon around 3 00 because of a car fire along the road. It spread to about two and a half acres, triggering a large response. 200 firefighters at one point, plus one chopper and one fixed wing aircraft conducting air dropts. Highway 17 was shut down for a time, causing headaches for people traveling between san jose and santa crews. Northbound direction had one lane of the southbound direction was finally reopened and the fire did at one point threaten about 30 structures and forced some people to evacuate. But firefighters were able to stop the fires and save all the nearby homes. It is horrible. Im glad there was no property damage, and it is an inconvenience, but if thats all it was, its not the end of the world. Reporter and we want to show you this video here. This was taken yesterday. Just off highway 84, near pleasanton a small brush fire, but again, a reminder of how dry the conditions are as we are in the middle of the fire season. He is charged with 29 sex crimes, ages 14 to 16. Some of them are his former students. Mr. Lee pretended to be a teenage female and contacted young teenage males, and started conversations with them for the purposes of engaging in Sexual Conduct through the inter in et or through Messenger Services and soliciting child pornography of these minor victims. Lee has been out on bail, ordered back to jail after the judge increased his bail amount to nearly 500,000. Last week, high profile lawyer gloria alred filed two lawsuits, saying the school didnt stop him after being under his supervision, even after a parent report reported. A missing pistol turned up at a homicide last year. Authorities say the gun was actually not used in the killing. Mercury news report says it happened in fairfield and the deputy reported the gun missing after the investigators called him to tell him they discovered it. Its nice to say were not going to be penalized but i still keep within the framework and the habits. Many water districts are asking people not to water their line between 9 00 a. M. And 5 00 p. M. Hot temperatures arent going away, but may peak today. Kari hall is tracking it for us.
