Do you think it will spark a wider trade war . I dont think he will do it because there is so much to lose for United States, starting with 10 million jobs, where mexico is accountable for u. S. Citizens by what we import every year into mexico. 250 billion u. S. Dollars. So the first big loss to the United States is 10 million u. S. Workers jobs, which he has promised to protect. And hes doing exactly the opposi opposite. You said this the debate has energized the mexican people. But the current president is in a difficult spot. Hes got historic low approval ratings, about 12 . The mexican people want him to stand up to donald trump and protect their reputation, but if he draws a line in the sand, president fox, doesnt he risk severe Economic Impact to his country . I think its also its an invitation to the media, trying to bait them into fighting, instead of reporting. Trying to bait them into a fight they can turn around and say, hey, look, they are out to get us. Which i think makes it a challenge for the media. Its almost like a referee in the basketball game. The coaches are yelling at you, keep calling the game. It worked for him in the election, to discount the media. I spent a week out talking to voters before the inauguration. They are happy to see him stand up for himself. They are frustrated when it looks like hes squandering valuable time in these petty fights. Talk about a difference in about 10 or 12 days. I always asked, if i were black, if my skin were one shade darker, would i have gotten all those chances. Its the Biggest Issue of my life, frankly. It really is. You know, i i get emotional. I think mostly because of all of the good things that happened to me. And when i do say, if i had been one shade darker, i wouldnt have gotten any of those jobs at that time. One shade darker. They say, oh, i dont think we can do this. Were a much different world, now, thank goodness. And i think theres a lot of opportunities that are out there. At the same time, we still, far too much, see the world through pigmentation. Somebody sees a white person, if theyre black and come to con cushions that are not always appropriate. On the other side, white people look at black people and they unload on them a lot of the cliches of our time. We need to find a way that we can converse with each other and understand each other. We come from, many times, different cultures. But were common americans. We hav to find w a to the future. Do you look forward with hope . I do because its more incremental. Theres a lot of gains going on. If you look just at our business. Had a great africanamerican correspondent on here. We didnt have those. Al roker is an american icon. When i was doing the today show, it was all white bred. Thats changed a lot. Political america and cultural america. We have to be able to talk to each other. If i can be personal for a second. Also, i have two little kids. And kids can be stressful. I love them. But theres moments when i baby was screaming nonstop. And instead of holding her close, i wanted to implode or explode. My head, i was like i know a lot of parents can relate with. What do you do to lengthen your fuse . Do you have personal hygiene for Mental Health stuff . No. I need something. Got it. The biggest lesson, finding my inner urban monk, in this urban jungle. I learned a lot from the urban monk. Some things i have to admit, i did better than others. The morning routine was a little hard for me. But the main things i took away, is to take a break from social media. And it creates time and space for more important things like relationships. Can you believe that . Communication. And then, obviously, a nightly meditation routine. And i feel so much better. And by the way, i got my fat measured, which is a scary thing. She comes more alive, even though shes undead. We as a couple, maybe in our lives, and marriage, and work have become complacent. Other than her eating the neighbors, is one of the greatest things that happened to the marriage. Theres some benefits i here of youre helping her kill people that arent good in your lives.
