The three soldiers were in the u. S. To take part in an annual Training Exercise at the National Guard base there in cape cod. Now, Law Enforcement officials both federal, state and even military have launched a massive search in an effort to find them. Now, what is still unanswered question here right now is whether this was a spur of the moment decision by these three soldiers to go on a sightseeing tour of america or whether this was well planned in advance and why, matt. Mik, before you leave, i heard a lot officials saying they dont consider these three to be a threat to the public and im sure why theyre so sure about that. Well, any of these visiting soldiers that come to the u. S. For this kind of training are well vetted in advance for any possible ties to a militant group or the taliban there in afghanistan. Without providing specifics, officials this morning appear to be very confident that these three pose no immediate threat to the u. S. Its being called an unprecedented Security Breach at the white house and now the secret service is reconsidering how it handles security around the white house. Later today charged with unlawful entry while carrying a deadly weapon. He was found. With a pocket knife. Omar gonzales served his country in iraq, but he will face his country today. He breached the white house friday night. Cell phone video captured the chaos. He jumped over the fence, sprinted to the first familys residence and entered through the unlocked front door. He was quickly apprehended. He had a knife like this in his pocket. This all came about maybe 15 to 20 seconds to reach the step of the white house. The white house was evacuated. Delaware state police and the National Transportation safety board are investigating. The accident involved only one vehicle, the bus, and every Single Person on board was injured. One man saying my wife, my wife. Keeps on playing in my mind. Reporter a sunday drive turned deadly on this delaware highway when a tour bus carrying 50 people crashed and overturned. Delaware state police say the bus was traveling southbound on route 1, when it hit a curve on an off ramp flipping onto its roof. The bus continued sliding down an embankment rotating on its left side where it finally came to a stop. One adult female was under the bus where she was trapped. Reporter that woman died at the scene. Another woman was later pronounced dead at the hospital. The remaining 47 passengers on board and the driver suffered a range of injuries. Injuries vary widely. They have been dropping record amounts of retardant. It made thing slick and muddy for crews trying to get into the steep and rugged terrain. They received this letter from the Health Department that says they should come and begin lining up as early as today to have their children tested for tb, something that is a contagious disease. Reporter its the worst possible nightmare for a hospital and parents, newborn babies exposed while still in the nursery, to tuberculosis, a disease that left untreated could be deadly. Jessica martinez gave birth to sebastien in october at Providence Memorial Hospital in el paso. She is one of more than 700 mothers in texas and new mexico who had their children here in the last year. Tb is a serious but treatable disease. Reporter all of them got this alarming letter from the department of Health Warning their infant may have been infected with tb. A hospital employee who worked in the nursery was recently diagnosed with tuberculosis, officials are not releasing her name but say shes been put on leave. The hospital says so far no other employees have tested positive for the illness. Babies are vulnerable. Their immune systems are not as strong. Reporter in a statement providence memorial says we take our obligations to our patients, employees and the community very seriously. We have taken actions that are designed to prevent a similar incident from occurring. Even if hes not sick, just that fear that it gives me that he could be, and that i couldnt prevent it is what kills me inside. Reporter after discovering the infected employee, Health Officials here came in and inspected the hospital and said that they found other areas where the Infectious Disease control protocols were not followed. He is wanted for reckless driving after he went into the Police Station saturday asking for a lawyer. Police say he left without being questioned and took off at a high speed, losing authorities. This weekend, more than 1,000 people helped search for hannah, as her parents desperately hold on to hope. All we want to do now is to bring hannah home safely. Plus will continue searching today. So he knew police were following him. He gets in the car, takes off at a high rate of speed. That was more than a day ago. We did follow up on some leads yesterday, as to a location in a neighboring jurisdiction where he may have been. Weve went to that location. He is not there. Were taking every effort that we know of to try to determine his location today. Well continue to pursue him until such time as he is located. Youve searched his apartment, his car. Have you found any evidence, forensic evidence, anything on phone records that makes you more suspicious of him . Well, of course, the search with respect to phone record sincere ongoing. We have some potential forensic evidence is at the lab. Hopefully, well hear back from them today, the latest tomorrow. Hopefully, it will be some valuable evidence and help us continue moving this case forward. It was more about this is super fun to do today and then after that we started getting more and we were nine years together doing that in the garage before we ever had any success. So, you could tell we were doing it for fun and then i dont know how our quirky band got on the radio next to nirvana at that time. Youre always going, i dont know how any of this happened. How are you going to handle this show, continually musically and dealing with these three little boys. When shakira was on here she was talking about dealing with the other coaches, its like dealing with little boys. Adam for sure. Little boys, but its a little more xrated. No vertical hierarchy in their view. No door either. No process to planning. I came in and i had lots of experience running Product Management in companies. So, my job was to create some process. I gave them one of the best plans i could come up with and larry immediately said, thats stupid. Dont hand them to the engineers, just go sit with them. Didnt you threaten to quit early on . I think i threatened to quit every two weeks. Thankfully eric talked me out of it. The company didnt run under any sort of traditional model. Smart people attacking a new problem. One of our friends said its like the borg, it just moves forward. It needs some structure. Over the last ten years you have built an Incredible Company that is admired by a lot of people. Admired especially by young people. College students constantly mention google as a place they want to go to work. So, lets now talk to those students out there still in college. Lets talk to their parents and lets give them the key to unlock the door of google. Who are you hiring right now . You want to be a smart creative. Someone who has some kind of Technical Knowledge or passion or something. Somebody who has some kind of business interest, but they have to be curious. They cant be boring. Learning animals and you eevaluate them on something called googliness. Everyone has to have a rocket scientist. Do we . Yes, we do. What do they do . We dont know. When youre interviewing these smart creatives, what are some of the weird or unusual questions that you ask them that let you know they ihave the googliness youre looking for . I ask what surprised them. Allow how they think. If someone can tell you how something surprised them, then theyre telling you how they felt before the surprise. When you were hired, did they ask you these kind of questions . They asked me all sorts of crazy questions. Explain something complicated. And im a Pretty Simple guy, i didnt have anything complicated to explain. So, i decided to get up and explain courtship. Between couples. Dangling the hook and i explained to him, i sent my future wife a dozen roses before i had ever met her. Once you hired those people thats clear planning. It works. Once you hire these people, then you say to them, imagine the unimaginable, think outside the box, go for the moon shots. These are the projects that other companies arent doing. Like driverless cars, contact lenses that can read blood sugar levels and even a project to deliver broadbound to billions of people around the planet using helium balloons. So, it sounds like you want your Office Environment to have a little bit of Science Fiction in it. We want people to dream much higher. Everyone ends up being a clog in a wheel. Oh, this is the way it is. We want to find people who imagine a different world. By the way, not everything works. But when they work, these are global problems. Is anything too crazy. Is any idea too far fetched to at least listen to . No. No. And a lot of them really are crazy. Go ahead. So, if you give them a project and get a car, you build a car that gets 70 Miles Per Hour gallon. Thats completely different than a project to build a car that gets 500 miles per gallon. 500 miles per gallon might sound crazy but imagine what youll learn from the failures to get a c car. I come up with one of the moon shot ideas, why should i stick around and develop it with you guys . Why shouldnt i leave the company immediately and go do it on my own and then turn around and sell it to you for hundreds of millions of dollars . One of the tricks is these systems need a lot of people, a lot of platforms and a lot of tools. Google keeps these people because they need the platform that we built up over the last decade to finish. Innovation is on the top of others. Do you worry about the people at the top . All the time. You can make this pretty much in no time at all. Small pieces of beef. Brown. Brown in olive oil and one onion after theyre browned and two tablespoons of flour, which thickens the gravy. Cook that down a little bit. Add your liquid, salt and pepper. Broth. Broth and water. And when youre finished with that. Looks like this. Move over here. This is what it looks like. Add your potatoes, carrots, so dlektable. You put them in later so they dont get too mushy . Right. And then add your egg noodles and this is your beefaroni. How long does it take to cook . 30 minutes. The noodles cook right in the gravy. Right before serving add a little bit of vinegar. It brightens the taste. Here it is. Look how pretty. Little bit of parsley. Ill try that as you move on to hoda. Still at mac n cheese. You love it, right . If i could eat cheese. Thats the onions and butter. Half a cup of flour and cook the flour a little bit. Add your milk. Six cups. A little at a time. Threequarters of a cup. Should i be dumping this in . Well cook that flour a little bit more. And then add your this is what it looks like. Macaroni is already cooking in the mixture. How long are you cooking that macaroni . Just until its tender and add three cups of sharp cheddar. This is a rich dish but one cup of gruyere and dijon. This is for the kids. They have to have something. To heck with the kids. You like this, dont you . And this is parmesan, bread crumbs and butter. This is the topping. When thats ready, melt it. Cook it until everything looks like that. Put this whole thing in the ov snen. Yes. How long . Just till its browned. Taste that. Now here is a good one. Pork chops, bacon and cabbage. I love you, martha. This is your favorite, right . You bet. Did you choose this recipe . I did. 120 recipes in the book. The book has really hit a chord. Everyone love this is book. I love it. Into the same pan where you browned your pork chops, add four strips of bacon cut up into pieces. Right. Then you add your cabbage and your onion. This is what it looks like. You brown all that . Brown all that. Add a little bit of flour to thicken. And this is the roasting pan. This is your one and look. Healthy, very sturdy meal. And three cups of milk. This makes a milky gravy that tastes really good with pork chops. There you have it. Stir it up until its thickens and six minutes to cook the cabbage. This is what it look like. Spectacular. Sweet potato. In here is sweet potato, onion, sausage out of the casings and broth, just like a vegetable broth if you want or a chicken broth, two cups of water. That is already cooked down. Three afghan officers, military officers, taking part in a Training Exercise here in the united states, were on a saturday night trip to a Shopping Mall in cape cod, massachusetts when they disappeared. Lets bring in pentagon correspondent Jim Miklaszewski. He has more to tell. What happened here . Willie, all three of these Afghan Soldiers, two captains and a major, were in the u. S. For an annual Training Exercise that takes place at the National Guard air base up there in cape cod. And it appears they were on some kind of saturday night field trip there at a Shopping Mall when they just disappeared from view. And they havent been heard from since. Now, according to u. S. Officials, state, local, federal and even military Law Enforcement are seriously looking after to figure out where these three men may have disappeared to. And the big question is today, did they preplan this in advance before they ever got here, and why . Or did it simply strike their fancy that they would make a spur of the moment decision to go on a sightseeing tour of the u. S. . Those are questions that remain. Now, u. S. Officials insist that none of these three Afghan Soldiers had any kind of weapons. Those would have been taken away after any kind of exercise. And they dont believe and its not clear exactly why, but they say because of a very stringent vetting process, before they ever get to the united states, to figure out if they have any ties whatsoever to militant organizations or from afghanistan, the taliban, these three were cleared to come to the u. S. , not considered a threat. And, quite frankly, are not considered an imminent threat to americans even during this search. Willie . Wow, fascinating story. Keep us posted on this. Now Authorities Say this missing uva student, that theres a person of interest in this case. Shes been missing since last saturday and hannahs parents spoke out for the First Time Since their daughters their only childs disappearance. Here is what they said. This is every parents worst nightmare. Im certain that everybody in this room and those watching knows that what happened to hannah could happen to their child. Hannah is also our little girl. Shes our only daughter. Shes james little sister. Hannah is also the oldest granddaughter and shes actually my parents only granddaughter and shes enormously precious to us all. Please, please, please, if you have anything, however insignificant you think it may be, call the Police Tip Line with anything that just might help us to bring hannah home. Wow. I mean, you hear that and you just say how can a person, if you know anything, not come forward at this point. Weve heard that same plea from the police chief there. Certainly, weve talked a lot about this Surveillance Video. It shows hannah leaving her apartment around 9 30 p. M. Last friday night. Then we see her running in front of a gas station. At 1 00 am, theres Surveillance Video from the downtown area, pedestrian mall area. You see her and someone following behind her. They know who that is. They know who that person is, 32yearold Jesse Matthew, who was seen with her. He is a Nursing Student or nursing aide of some sort. And apparently, according to police, Jesse Matthew went into the Police Station on saturday. He asked for a lawyer. They got him a lawyer. And then at some point, he just left the Police Station without being questioned. And its a very strange story at this point. At some point later that day, he was chased by police. He went to albemarle, a they were overt about it, but he knew he was being followed. Yes. Takes off at a high rate of speed, loses them. And now hasnt been seen since. Hasnt been seen since. This morning, matt spoke with the chief of police for the area and here is what he to say about this. I believe Jesse Matthew was the last person she was seen with before she vanished off the face of the earth so, you know, listen, at this point, there is no suspect. Be very careful with these persons of interest is what they say at this point. But, you know, i guess police say get an attorney, come back and answer the questions. Let us know what you saw. Maybe you can help authorities find hannah or add some of the missing pieces to this puzzle. But to suddenly disappear and not answer these questions suddenly. Hes not a suspect. No. It is fair to ask why he took off at a high rate of speed. Why did he come to the Police Station, to begin with, asking for an attorney, and then take off. Listen, he may say i jetted off because i think they think im guilty. Whatever the case is. You admitted you saw her. Go in with your attorney, which is your legal right, and answer these questions. How do you start putting a song together when youre doing all of it . I normally start with just drums, guitar and bass. And then i build on it from there. Thats my skeleton. And whatever the song calls for, i just start putting on top. But, you know, i love playing instruments and thats i was inspired as a kid by stevie wonder, who played all the instruments on his record, by prince, people like that, who were multiinstrumentalists. I get a lot of joy playing instruments. People say, what, are you a control freak . You dont want anybody else to play . Its not that. I just love playing. Good. The writers keep all of you guys in the dark or are you no, no. It is very collaborative. Tell us about that. Right from the first time i spoke to them about doing the pilot, it was very collaborative. And i, you know, not knowing the life span of the series, you dont know whether youre when youre going to reach your endgame. You dont know if it is going to be reaching your endgame in two years or a year or six months or whether it is going to be, you know, seven years. You have to pace accordingly. The root may be circuitous and you may not know what the route is but i know the greater ark. They gave you a spectrum. I talk to the writers every day. Many people obviously knew about the black list last season. More are will probably want to watch it this season. Lets hope. If you werent familiar with last season, do you need to rewatch all or can you no, it is streaming now on netflix, first season is, but it no, the show really functions fairly well, i think, as being, you know, the episodes being stand alone and but still serving a greater story, that we sort of kept people up on as were going along. And the balance of that has been very important because of the fact that there is so much material out there, programming out there that people jump around from thing to thing. But the amazing thing about our show, which has really been lovely is the people that are taping our show, our the ratings or the viewers, the amount of viewers jumps every week. On the dvr. Yeah, on the dvr. An enormous amount. For us around here, to be able to say the runaway nbc hit. We like it. It has a ring to it.
