Im not sure. I miss most class things. My daughter would list all the mothers that were there, and you were not there, mom. First few times i would die with guilt. But i developed coping mechanisms. I called the school and said, give me a list of mothers who were not there. When she came home in the evening shed say, you were not there, you were not there. I said, ahha, mrs. Soandso wasnt there, im not the only bad mother. Shes very loveable, by the way. Doesnt she . I remember when the american cancer society, every year they honor a different person, mother of the year. Many, many years ago they honored me. It was great. But my kids when i told them they go, why . Why you . You know. I mean, its your mom, you know . Isnt it an interesting discussion, especially women trying to juggle and balance. Every woman is different. I think its what are your priorities . Ive always felt, you know so grateful that i had the kind of job. And thats part of it. I think a woman can have it all but she cant have it all alone. Right. Shes got to have a good partner that helps her. She has to have good help that can help her. She has to have, you know, a relationship with god, i believe, to keep it all organized and keep your priorities, keep yourself grounded, you know . Yeah. Im just grateful because im at a ive always felt like its possible. But you always have to have an attitude of, your willingness to sacrifice your own desires on occasion. Remember the time i told you that i was i was so excited to be asked to be yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. To be in victoria. Victor victoria. Thats right. It was just such an honor. Theyre kind of on their own. I think whats interesting, too we keep talking about helicopter parents who are there for everything. I think a lot of other mothers who are doing a fine job feel terrible because the other parents are overdoing it. Great point. And they feel terrible. That is a great point. When i was growing up probably with you too my mother and father never came once to school. Ever. I dont remember i would panic if my parties showed up at my school. All of a sudden a cull of generations later, youre a terrible mother if youre not there every day. If i couldnt be lunch mother one week i said, is anybody going to die because im not lunch mother . I dont think so. You know what im waiting for . The pendulum began with us, parents didnt show up at anything. Now the pendulums here. Bring it back into the middle already it belongs. I took a page from your book. A small, minor page. I decided one thing i wanted to learn, i cant sing but i wanted to learn how to play the guitar. Youve been saying that for six and a half years.
