Thats why [ laughter and applause ] [ cheers ] this is pretty interesting here. Comey said that he kept memos of his meetings with trump because he felt that the president may lie about them. [ laughter ] even trump was like, yeah, that sounds like me. Good thinking [ laughter and applause ] thats good thinking on your part. Turns out that when trump asked comey to dinner a few months back, it actually conflicted with some other plans that comeys made. Take a look at this. He called me at my desk at lunchtime and asked me was i free for dinner that night. And then he said, how about 6 30 . Then i said whatever works for you, sir. And then i hung up and had to call my wife up and break a a date with her. I was supposed to take her out to dinner that night. [ laughter ] [ audience oohs ] comey tried to take his wife out the next night, and she said actually trump just asked me to dinner. [ laughter and applause ] so, i mean, its the whole hes screwing up the whole week. Comey also talked about rumors that his conversations with trump were recorded. He said, quote, lordy, i hope there are tapes. [ laughter ] when comey said, lordy, mike pence was like, eh, language [ laughter ] watch it, ear muffs cause of todays hearing all the tv networks had to interrupt their normal daytime programming. But i saw that one network actually decided to show both the hearing and soap operas. And it was pretty interesting. Take a look at this. The russians interfered in our election. [ laughter ] thats what this is about. And they will be back. Oh, my god and so theyre going to try to run it down and dirty it up as much as possible. Tell me more. Well, in a new interview his cast mate sterling k. Brown, talked about the auditioning for the role of chris darden. And this is real, very interesting, he said, i shaved my head for the audition and memorized my lines right away, and i put on my rehearsal glasses, which are basically frames without any lenses. [ light laughter ] then brown continued adding, they look like real glasses but theyre not. [ laughter ] most glasses have lenses, these ones dont. These glasses dont have lenses. Theyre my rehearsal glasses. [ laughter ] you see the difference between my normal glasses and my rehearsal glasses that my normal glasses have lenses, whereas my rehearsal glasses dont. Jimmy came right out. I was in shock. I didnt know what he was going to do with the iron. Sure. And youre little. Youre small. Jimmy im a baby. Ive got to be, you know, 16, 17 years old. [ laughter ] and i put the bloody tooth under my pillowcase. Yeah. Jimmy you know . At night. And i went to bed. And i go, good night, daddy. I want to get into a dolls house part two. Yeah. Jimmy i think i first got to know you like most people from roseanne, and you were just phenomenal on that show. [ cheers and applause ] and all the cast was great. And theyre rebooting it, right, for eight episodes . We are, yes, its coming back, yeah, for eight episodes. [ cheers ] jimmy how exciting. Everybodys on board . Everybodys on board, yeah. There will be new people because we had children, you know, roseanne and i both had little tiny tots 20 years ago. Jimmy thats right. So there will be new characters. Jimmy how did this come about . Well, i think that john goodman was on the talk with sara gilbert. Jimmy of course. And they did a little parody, i think like a a 30second parody where they brought in the couch and john and sarah were sitting on the couch and watching a Football Game or Something Like that. And it went over really well. And then john was asked on the show would you ever do a a reunion, and he said yes right off the bat. So sarah started calling people. Called the whole cast. Everybody said yes. They said save, october, november, so were all coming back. Jimmy no way. [ cheers and applause ] how fun is that . It was quick, so i guess it was meant to be, i think. Its so funny. Jimmy dude, everybody. Youre getting the best reviews and well deserved because theyre saying how funny you are in this. So and i cannot wait. I mean youre down the street, so i just cant wait. I want to check this out. But now youre nominated for a a tony award. Is that exciting to you . When you go to the tony awards . Yes, it was so exciting. The whole cast got nominated. So we had a wonderful on the tuesday when the announcements came out, we had a great show. We had a jimmy yeah, absolutely. We had a toast backstage afterwards. And i think we all wanted to get in a car together. Theres only four of us in the show.
