Those who live in the area say its been a very interesting afternoon watching all thats been going on. There are a lot of police, a lot of fire. And there was a bomb squad here earlier. Thats very scary for those of us who live here. But it seems like everything is going okay. But its hard to know. We dont know anything about whats going on. So theres been no information at all. Reporter the fbi spokesperson says there is no threat to public safety. The protective equipment is being used for the safety of the agents. Just to reiterate here, jackson street shut down at this hour between van ness and polk as the fbi goes about conducting its investigation. If we get any more information, well pass it along to you. Live in San Francisco, kimberly tere, nbc bay area news. Kimberly, thanks very much. The search is on this evening for gunmen following two separate shootings in san jose. The most recent happened last night on Rocky Mountain road. Investigators say the victim was shot in the chest, taken to the hospital. Condition unknown. Investigators also looking for whoever shot a man yesterday morning at the light rail station near san jose state. Police say a friend drove him to the hospital. He has minor injuries. The Victim Told Police there was a fight on the light rail platform that led to the shooting. Today were learning more about a body found in the water in the south bay. Emergency crews responded to the marina in alviso last week to reports of a body in the water. The Santa Clara County medical Examiners Office identified the victim as jamie Allan Collier of clearlake. He was reported missing earlier this month. According to the medical examiner, the cause of death was drowning. But the circumstances around how he ended up in the water are still under investigation. The coroner has identified a man who was hit and killed by a b. A. R. T. Train last night. It happened at the west oakland b. A. R. T. Station. The accident shut down service between the east bay and San Francisco for hours. 22yearold tyler warden from el cerrito was walking along the tracks outside the platform area. It is a restricted area. No word on why he was there or how he got out onto those tracks. Now to a followup story out of Treasure Island, hundreds of homes on Treasure Island in San Francisco will soon be tested for radiation, even though people have been living in those homes for years. The navy answered questions from anxious residents, many concerned about contamination on the former naval base. Contractors will use special instruments to check for radiation inside some 600 homes. The nbc bay area Investigative Unit first reported unexpected findings of radiation. A Navy Spokeswoman said that finding is prompting the scans. A bay area play structure went up in flames and investigators believe someone intentionally set it on fire. Crews responded around 10 00 today. The fire destroyed the plastic play structure. Fire Officials Say the bark chips surrounding the play structure fueled the flames there. No one was hurt. Damage is estimated at about 25,000. After nearly five years in captivity, Army Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl is coming home. Officials say he has arrived at Bagram Air Base in afghanistan where he is being evaluated by their reintegration system and a medical assessment is under way. Heres more. Reporter Bowe Bergdahl held captive for nearly five years is free, handed over to u. S. Special forces in afghanistan on saturday. Hes reportedly in good health. Certainly a good sign he was able to walk out under his own power and apparent good health. But i think five years of captivity would take a toll on anybody. Reporter the Army Sergeant is believed to have been captured on june 30th, 2009, and held by the haqqani network. The wall street journal is reporting the fbi is looking into whether mickelson illegally traded clorox stock. Officials believe the two received that Insider Information from carl icahn about clorox. Organizers claim its the nations largest free pet adoption event, spreading over nine states. Here are a few of the animals up for adoption in san jose today. But just about every adoptable animal from the east bay to San Francisco to the south bay is free this weekend, including that beautiful german shepherd, thanks to maddys fund. More than 100 shelters in the bay area are participating. Its actually a national program. And maddys fund, which is locally based, helps to adopt more than 10,000 animals out this weekend. And here is the Adoption Party happening at the newly unveiled rescue row in San Francisco earlier today. Its along alabama street and it is the first of its kind in the nation with four animal care organizations, all on the same block. Free adoptions, by the way, continue tomorrow at all of those locations. And theyre looking for 10,000. Coming up next, time is running out for a south bay roller skating rink. But tomorrows supposed to be even warmer if you like that kind of weather. And we do. I do. Lets check in with meteorologist anthony slaughter. We knows all about it with the forecast. Were looking at some fog thats developing off the coast right now and even pushing into San Francisco. You can see that from our satellite perspective. Thats the thick marine layer thats been pushing in each and every morning, just like we saw this morning. And thats already beginning to overtake San Francisco you can see it from our live Sky Camera Network right now. San francisco really completely shrouded in with fog. But everywhere else, looking at clear skies from the south bay, peninsula, even in the east bay. But theres the fog. You can see its kind of messing up the camera because that wind is blowing so incredibly hard. Its already down to 60 degrees. Meanwhile, you happen over to dublin, livermore, back still to near 80. So it is still very warm in some locations but right at the coastline, that cool ocean breeze really taking over right now. For tomorrow, well see temperatures go up quite a bit. San jose only to 76 today. 84 for tomorrow. Morgan hill, close to 90 for tomorrow. Palo alto at 83. San francisco will wake up to the fog but by 11 00, the fog will burn off. Well see sunshine. Hayes valley, back to 71 tomorrow. And in the north bay, another start with some fog in the morning. By the afternoon hours, well see plenty of sunshine from napa to 83 over to santa rosa to 85. And walnut creek, 83 degrees. Trivalley, fog will burn off to see plenty of sunshine. Mid to upper 80s for your highs there. We have that storm track right over us. We have an area of low pressure to our north. Thats getting out of here. But its going to reinforce that onshore wind. Another system right an its heels is coming through for monday and tuesday. Unfortunately not for us. Its staying to our north. But the circulation around it will keep that ocean air continuing to pull on in. And thats why were expecting to stay foggy at least for the next couple of days in the morning hours. Then well see that sunshine towards the afternoon hours. Temperatures tomorrow go into the mid80s. Then we drop as that fog and marine layer really intensifies for monday. So south bay, while it will be very warm tomorrow, jacket weather for monday and tuesday, even below average. By wednesday and thursday, looks like temperatures level out back to above average category and even by next weekend, we could be looking at temperatures similar to this weekend, close to 90.
