As we get you into your thanksgiving day forecast, if youre traveling on the roads, interstate 80 will be icy at times. Highway 50 also slick as weve had some recent snowfall. Highway 101, sunny all the way down to los angeles. Interstate 5 will be dry. But if youre headed anywhere near the Pacific Northwest, we can expect rain. Reporter raj, as you can imagine, more traffic than usual here at San Jose International airport and the airport says they expected it, of course, with all the expansions that have been taking place over the last year here in san jose. They expect to see roughly 400,000 travelers between november 18th and the 29th. Thats a 15 increase from the same time last year. So the busy rules apply this week. Arrive two hours before your domestic flight and three hours before international flights. Thats at all three major bay area airports. Also dont wrap any presents because tsa will only make you unwrap them. Similar, long lines are expected in oakland and at sfo. Adding to the problem is all three major airports added flights and destinations over the last year. But so far, at sjc, no one is complaining. It was walltowall people so we waited comfortably and now were going to have turkey day with our family. One of them, a former Alameda County deputy d. A. Hes now among those facing charges in this prostitution sting. Nbc bay area is live at the Hayward Police department which led this sting operati operatio reporter a former Alameda County Deputy District Attorney and he is one of the eight men arrested and charged with soliciting prostitution. The sting happened at a Hayward Motel in october. The goal of the undercover operation was to arrest prostitutes and male customers and rescue children. They released details of the sting this afternoon after the eight men arrested were formally charged in court vafacing a variety of charges. It could be anything from pimping to soliciting prostitution, you know, its generally those kind of things. For two years starting back in 1988. I reached out to his law firm and staff said that he was out of town and they would not comment on his arrest. 13 women were also arrested in the sting for prostitution charges. A rare Violent Crime in one of the most historic spots in california. A deadly shooting in montereys cannery row. This hasnt happened in 25 years. It happened in the parking garage just before 2 00 a. M. Police officers tell us the victim, Raul Melendez of monterey was shot several times. He later died at a nearby hospital. Investigators believe melendez was specifically targeted. Theyre still looking for a motive and a suspect. Right now, roughly 6,000 people are on parole in california, most of them sex offenders or gang members, under watch wearing monitors. We found out hundreds of parolees have been caught tampering with the devices each year. What happens when they do that . Reporter janelle, the penalty is 180 days back in county jail, but our investigation found offenders serve far less time than that. We reviewed records to see how often parolees are arrested for tampering with or removing their bracelets. We talked to a former parole agent who said parolees are not deterred by the penalties. The parolees actually had the attitude, the words were spoken, you cant do anything to me, what do i go back, 30 days, 15 days, 60 days . Its no big deal. The captain of a southwest flight says this man of maryland threatened several passengers during takeoff yesterday telling them there was a bomb on that flight. That flight bound for baltimore.
