Victims that were left on scene for the investigation. Now turned over to the coreener. We have a total of three tragedies. The two victims that are surviving are two adult females. They are both still living right now. They are both in Critical Condition at the hospital. One is at river Side Community hospital, one is at arrow head regional in San Bernardino county. This is what your return on investment is. We put Fire Fighters inside of a building. We pulled them out. And we have saveable a lives that are living today. Thats what you get from a Fire Department that is locked and loaded and ready to go. We have property that was at risk. We had lives at risk. We saved numerous houses. We have a total of only four of them damaged from an airplane coming down in a small residential neighborhood. So, we have a total of five victims on the plane, three tragedies, two patients that are living, four houses that are damaged, and only two of those houses are red tagged. Two of those four houses are only smoke damage and minor damage to the exterior. So, with that, i want to thank the community. If you look at the live videos yesterday, the community of river side, they didnt get in the Fire Fighters way. They actually helped assist pull one of the live victims from across the street, getting that victim to a safe location. They let the Fire Fighters do their job. We have three alarms coming in. We had approximately 60 Fire Fighters on scene. I want to thank the community this neighborhood for allowing the Fire Fighters to get in, perform these rescues, protect life and protect property. Unfortunately, again, it was a tragic incident. Here is the info about the patients. A total of five of them. There was one male, adult victim, there was three adult females, and one teenage female. The only ones that are surviving right now are two of the adult females. Everybody else tragically succumbed to their injuries on scene. They have been turned over to the coroner. There is no personal information thats been released. Most of the family members are in san jose of what we have been informed. Were waiting for those families to get the information from the coroner before any personal information is released. With that, unless you have any questions, im going to turn it over to the rest of our Department Members and Councilmember Mike subaru. Are all the family members related to each other . We have been given information possibly the teenage female had a family members on board. It is unconfirmed if all of them were a complete family on board. Out of the five members, we are not sure how many of them were family members. Captain, how did the two survivors manage to survive such a plunge and a fire and the impact . Where did you find them . Were they somehow in some safe place or when we arrived on scene initial reports as you saw the news yesterday, we did a rapid search of the residents that were impacted by the plane that came down. We came on scene, assessed, found there was a chance for saveable victims in the house. Our Fire Fighters did a rapid search and found one of the victims alive inside one of the bedrooms. They went in with thermal imaging cameras. We had the house surrounded. We had Fire Fighters at the windows waiting to retrieve any survivable bodies. We had Fire Fighters inside, immediate danger to life, environment, zero visibility. They found one of the victim in the room. They assisted that female adult patient out of the window, Fire Fighters were waiting and pulled them out. The second victim was found in the vicinity of the crash. Again, i would like to thank the citizens of river side of staying out of the way and assisting when needed and pulling that victim across the street to safety. Thats the second victim that is alive today. Can you give us an update on their condition at the hospital . We do not know who the pilot was. The bodies that were removed on scene is one male, adult patient, one female adult patient, and one teenage adult patient. We do not know who the pilot was. The bodies were left in place for a short period of time and released over to the coroner. We cannot confirm who the pilot was at this time. [ inaudible ] . The conditions of the survivors, one of them is at the burn center at arrow head regional. They are both listed in Critical Condition. Unfortunately the victim that was found in the bedroom has a large amount of body surface area burns, been reported approximately third degree of 90 of her body. When they pulled her out, she was transported immediately. We had numerous amount of resources on scene including paramedic resources. She was immediately transported off scene. Same with the second adult female patient. Shes been listed in Critical Condition due to the possible airway burns, and theyre both still alive today at the hospital. Do you know who the owner of the plane is at all . Any information at the aircraft, im going to go ahead and refer that to the National Transportation safety board. Any questions that have to do with the aircraft or the details on that, theyll be talking here shortly. Are you going to hold a briefing this afternoon . This morning they seemed to think there was. There will be approximately a 3 00 giving more information opt aircraft. If theres any more questions operationally, i would be glad to answer those. Otherwise im going to pass it on to our council man mike subaru to talk about the Emergency Preparedness and the effects of the city and this neighborhood. [ inaudible ] . It has been confirmed that the five total were aboard the aircraft. We had to do a rapid search. We had to make sure that all the neighboring houses, including the house that was impacted, that were both involved in the fire, we had to do a primary and a secondary search which took place rapidly. Thats where we found one of the live victims. It has been confirmed none of the houses were occupied or any type of injuries sustained to any citizens in the house. There was one victim that immediately left his house. You saw him on the news yesterday. No injuries. Privatery search and secondary search found no victims with the exception of the five on the aircraft. [ inaudible ] the second house . [ inaudible ], did it make a direct impact to the one house over there . The plane hit the right side corner of the house and victims were ejected from the aircraft. Thats the victims that we initially thought were rescued as residents of the house during the rapid search. It turned out later those victims were ejected from the aircraft and landed inside the house. [ inaudible ] . Our Fire Fighters, we train every day. Heres our priorities. Life is our priority. We stabilize the incident. And we protect property. We have to put our Fire Fighters at risk when there is saveable lives. Thats what we did yesterday. There was a huge amount of risk. You had an aircraft, you had the fuel of the aircraft, and you had structures well involved. Our incident command system, we assessed the risk. We knew that there was possible saveable lives in there. Our Fire Fighters did what they had to do and we had two rescues because of that. [ inaudible ] . Okay. You have been listening to fire chief Tyler Reynolds there with the city of riverside. And just a horrible, horrible tragedy that happened just before 5 00 yesterday. You are looking at video of the aftermath right now. Heres what we know and what we dont know this morning following this news conference. We do know now the victims. We know those are the three people that died. Again, a male adult, female adult, and teenage girl. We know two others were ejected when they hit the front righthand corner of the house. Those are the two that were able to survive. We do not know what caused the plane crash. Sounds like one of those victims was pulled from the home. You may have heard the fire captain say 90 of that womans body is covered by third degree burns. It is going to be a very long road to recovery there. Once again all of that sunshine over san jose and los gatos, well continue to see those temperatures making it into the upper 50s. Our normal high is 64 degrees, so, going well below that for today. But then continuing to warm up as we go through the of the week. Nothing going on here, but if youre traveling to the north, a lot of snow happening. And that will stay to the north of us as High Pressure steers any rain or snow away from the state as we will start to see that breaking down and then some rain moving in by saturday. I think the north bay may see some spotty showers on saturday. The rest of us seeing it holding off on sunday. And then it looks like for now still the models going back and forth on how much well get, or even exactly where it will be. But it does look like well start to see some moretive weather going into the start of next week as well. Here is a look at how much rain we could see. This is just kind of an idea of how much we could see bay area. The green kind of correlates to half an inch of rain and then the blue for parts of the north bay showing half an inch to an inch and a quarter. So, it will be wet as we go into sunday and early next week. But there may be a few changes down the line. And if youre following me on facebook ander ill keep you up to date on any changes headed our way. If youre trying to make plans for the weekend for the bay and inland areas, it does still look dry for the most part on saturday. But some cloudy skies, you wont see much sun there, 62 degrees will be the high at about 3 00. And then on sunday, a little bit cooler. And it will be milder during the mornings, cloudy skies and scattered showers. If youre planning a little bit of a get away to Russian River valley, it will be in the mid to upper 50s, and definitely raining on sunday as you most likely are driving back home. Redwood National Forest will be cool, highs only reaching 50 degrees on sunday, and shastatrinity National Forest, it will be into the lower 40s and morning temperatures in the 20s looking at some snow in those areas. As we go through our forecast here, going to see the temperatures warming up as we go towards the end of the week this weekend, once again, starts to become a little bit more unsettled and we could see that pattern continuing into next week.
