We dont know how many people dined at the restaurant on friday and saturday, but right now, what we do know is that people who dined at fourth sfleet downtown san jose friday or saturday who have diarrhea, fever, we foe that 15 of the people so far have been diagnosed with san migediagnose ed shigella. If they dined there are are ill, see a doctor, get evaluated. We think its important to know if you have shigella, shigella is quite infectious. If you have it, its important to note that you can prevent spreading it to others. We know that at least 11 people, many of the people went to hospital, 11 in intensive care. How serious in terms of being life threatening. Ordinarily people get shigella, fever, diarrhediarrhe sometimes dehydrated but you recover on your own in five to seven days. In this outbreak, weve seen a lot of hospitalizations, and, as you mentioned, about a dozen people have at one time or another been requiring icu care. So its a little bit more severe than we usually see about important to know that most people do get better on their own. What about antibiotics . Antibiotics can treat this . Some people require antibiotics. We encourage anyone who ate at the restaurant and ill, be evaluated, see whether they require any further treatment, including antibiotics.
