She hit the victim in a crosswalk. The victim was taken to the hospital where he died. Wu faces felony hit and run and manslaughter charges. San leandro say charges will likely not be filed against a man who managed to turn the tables on his attacker and kill him. The incident happened early this morning. Police say one man pulled a kni knife on another man to rob him and the wouldbe victim fought back and grabbed the knife, stabbed his attacker and killed him. Reporter the Tenants Association protesting a new Court Development today, a judge approved a temporary restraining order against the rent control measure filed by the california apartment association. No one from the city wanted to go on camera, but a statement from the City Managers Office confirms the city did not contest the order, though they might in the future. Pretty outrageous, you know. It feels like a betreyal. The city council has been fighting us for over a year on rent control. Reporter the tenants will challenge it, saving rent receipts and the lawyering up. We found hundreds of accusations from members of the public that bus are blowing through red lights. This all started with a tip from a viewer in the east bay after making repeated reports to the Transit Agency, he says with no resolution, he called us. Come on, lets go. Reporter Steven Schuyler has a simple request. All i want to do is cross the street to take my dog for a walk. Reporter but he says he cant do that safely in his berkeley neighborhood. He says he sees ac transit buses clearly speeding. Walking crosswalks and more. The buses were blatantly blasting right through a red light. Reporter schuyler wants ac transit to know hes watching for red light runners. Like the driver captured on this red light camera. Or this bus off rater dash cams caught her running a red, taking a sharp left turn and tossing passengers onto the floor. Schuyler, who is battling hiv, says his life is already at risk. I dont need any help to hasten my death or get injured by a bus from a driver that is being careless about how theyre driving. And thats why this is important. Reporter schuyler says this busy intersection near his home is especially problematic. So, we decided to check it out. Our camera found buses blocking traffic and double parking. This bus is still driving through the intersection even while the light for cross traffic is green. And this one is entering on a red. Is this dangerous . Well, of course. Reporter Transportation Safety consultant paul herbert reviewed our video. For 20 25 years hes provided expert testimony in bus crash cases. When a bus is going through the intersection clearly on a red light. Reporter herbert says these buses should be slowing down to anticipate the light turning red. Instead of speeding up to beat it. So bus drivers need to as they are well back, be paying attention to the traffic signals. It sets up all kinds of horrible scenarios for accidents to happen. Reporter its unclear if red light running has resulted in a serious accident, but many people fear it could. We reviewed hundreds of complaints submitted to ac transit since 2014. This person writes, i do not feel safe when your bus drivers routinely run red lights. Another agrees. This is a regular pattern. We even found complaints about red light runners in a school zone, and with a bus full of children. Across the east bay we found at least 230 complaints about buses running stop signs and lights. Does ac transit have a problem with buses running red lights . No, we do not. Reporter general manager micha michael her shall says they retrain and discipline drivers who break the law. The number of red light concerns we uncovered is too high. If that number is in fact true and that number does not dramatically drop, then we are not delivering what the tax payers are paying for. Reporter he was appoint today lead the agency a little more than a year ago. He says hes hired an executive director of safety to report concerns directly to him. Storm time line has not changed really that much over the past 18 hours or so. Youll see by 1 00 in the morning we talked about the storm system earlier. Starting to get its act together. So, by 4 00 we get some heavier pocketsener santa rose a down to San Francisco. Then it really speeds up and by 5 30 we could start to see some of this rainfall make it down towards san jose. As we hit 8 00 in the morning well have scattered areas of rain throughout the bay area. Now, into the afternoon, even though the storm is trying to push out, well likely still have enough instability in the upper levels of the atmosphere that we could get some isolated thunderstorms firing off. There will be enough cold air near the surface that we may get some hail if any thunderstorm do develop. Could get a little bumpy tomorrow afternoon. Once we hit the evening hours storm does begin to push out. Rainfall totals for this one, a lot of colors on this map, find your city match it to the key at the top. What you should know is in the north bay a lot of orange. So i think were good for about an inch of rain. Also some orange color and yellow for the peninsula, so anywhere from a half inch to three quarters of an inch and for the east bay a half inch to a three quarters of an inch. For the south bay you could sew some green that correlates to a quarter to a half inch. Lesser amounts in the south bay and a 1 inch total in the north bay for lower elevations. It is going to be wet across the entire state. If youre doing a road trip tomorrow, not just the storm in the bay area, but all the way down to southern california.
