When it comes to a theme for the big day. Choosing a red and gold motif has been done before. That doesnt stop some of the most faithful from indulging in their fan base. Preparations, planning, creativity. All of these things go not only into a great ceremony, but a great proposal as well. And like a wedding, that proposal can take months even years in the making. It starteds beforehand. Actually. One of my best friends, andy used to work with the 49ers. He met some people down there. And i knew that scott had bought a ring. Eric and i had been talking. I said wouldnt it be cool if he could propose at the stadium. Light went off. I thought that would be pretty awesome. Wonder how they could do that. I am a pr guy. Spend a lot of time talking to reporters, pitching stories. I thought, man, i ned to put together the pitch of my life. I sat there. Rereading this pitch over. Maybe for an hour. You know, putting period. Commas. Exclamation point. Too serious. Like asking a girl out. Dont want to come on too strong. Got to show i care. Got to be concise. Explain it. Email from andy. Within second. He has pitched this idea to me. Of putting together the first wedding proposal at levi stadium ever. And i looked at it as the first true memory that we could create for one of our fans at the stadium. Within 20 minutes. Bob responded. From there i knew we were on the road to something amazing. What better way to start someones marriage than using something that was one of the reasons that they came together. Their love for the San Francisco 49ers. If we could get this to go. Or be part of it. I would be on cloud nine if we could do it. So, a plan had been hatched. And the niners staff were all in. With the help of several departments within the franchise. The wheels were in motion to have the true memory come to light at levi stadium. Raleally a big moment for th team. Ability to have the first wedding proposal. At levis, moment to commemorate. A moment to make, larger than you. Thats really cool. I think, what was comforting was a lot of guys in the organization. They didnt just you know they didnt say, we are doing a wedding thing. They took it as seriously as i would hope anyone involved in a big wedding proposal would. Reminded me what kind of organization it is. Done to the guy. Doesnt know the people. Never met them. Either members of the couple. Took it seriously as if there was no proposal. That meant a lot. Coming of on the faithful the moment of truth. And every mans greatest fear. Was it a yes or no . When we return. In the months before levi stadium was ready to open its doors. A young man was hoping to enter the stadium early. You see, a lifetime faithful was hoping to make sarah his faithful fiancee by way of the first prem to be done at the teams shiny new home. But he couldnt do it alone. So, with help from his friend. Family and hometown team. He headed out to have as unique proposal in anyone in niners lore. After talking. The 49ers. We set up a date. Andy got a private tour. Coming of in the weeks following. So take the time off work. Tuesday. Middle of the day. Was pretty tough. I was sweating the whole time. Especially when, right up, maybe just go without me. Scott and eric. Just, turned 30 this past may. We convinced sarah that, our good friend andy had done a little magic and had gotten us a private tour of levi stadium for scott and erics birthday. As a good girlfriend how you cannot be there. Scott, myself, andy, jessica, holding the secret so long. Really hard to maintain our cool. Not act weird. So i picked up scott and sarah from the city. Left work early. And, scott was being a little chatty kathy. Made me nervous. Should go left here. We need to get around construction. How we get there. Calm down, man the i got this. Going to be down there. Make it in time. Once we roll up to the stadium. Youve see the enormity of the thing. How breathtaking it is. That is just, it took our mind away from, beautiful structure. We went into the headquarters. I got to meet everyone that i had been emailing which is really weird. Acting look you never core spawned or spoken with the person you have. Members of the team and organization, all knew it was happening. So, when i arrived to levis. Saw a lot of old friend. I worked with for years in the past. It was kind of like being with, 1,000 people who are all on the inside of this really big joke. It was cool to, both be sort of innocent bystander or scott and sarah, but also, hang back with people, the team who knew what was happening and knew the enormity of what was going to go down and what action was to happen and see the excitement on their faces. Meanwhile, i am inside. Completely. Freaking out. I could tell he was nervous. Thought he was really excited. Normal at the stadium. The thing that threw me off the most when we were walking on the concourse. There was a row of seats that were shaped in a heart. I looked at that. Hope it doesnt give it away. I looked ate. Thats weird. Why would they do that. You know. In my head. I am like could this be that. Could this be a proposal. You are such a girl. Get over yourself. Thats not happening. Its been a long time coming. You want to do a group know tow. Dont you want to come up here. Sarah. And it is about time. Just like the 49ers. Go off to the next chapter. This is the perfect place. And something great. Will you be my wife . Is that a yes . Is that a yes . Yes whoa oh, my gosh give me a kiss. Give me a kiss. I love you. Oh, my gosh. This is crazy oh, my gosh oh, my god, the most beautiful thing i have ever seen in my life. I have been freaking out. I know, you are acting so strange. I cant believe im wearing a ring right now. I love you. Babe, im serious in shock right now. Me too. Yeah. Im still conscious, thats great. Thats the point. Before i proposed to sarah, i feel look i should have asked her father. Before i did so. I called her dad just the day before. And, i asked him. And he was free, pretty fired up too. When i told him the whole thing. Again, another, another sigh of relief for me. And how it worked. And it was a big. And wanted to propose to you. And in fact he was like beyond fired up all. He was. He said make sure you are in a good mood. And that he said that you will be in good hands. Oh, my gosh, scotty were you nervous talking to him. Yeah, a little bit. This is just nuts. Never in a million years did i think this is going to happen. So grateful that it did. Just sinking in. So cool. She said yes. Kind of like a, felt complete after that. The pure shock of thing that happened after. We were excited. The stadium. The whole social media thing after that. And i saw us on yahoo . Then i called into the sports info network. And that was, it was just, still kind of a, surreal, it was funny. Because we sat down. We read some of the comments. I felt lined of proud, a lot of people were thinking, man, this guy took my idea. Yeah, read number 2, or 200. Not number one. Scott truly exceeded every expectation. All i can say about the day. It is one thing to get engaged. But to do it some where so special and so important. The niners just love the idea. And were so supportive and so thoughtful. And just, put so much heart into it. Which i think really speaks to, the organization. And, and, the, the way they value their fans. To say they went above and beyond what we asked is even an understatement. I think it was pretty amazing. That it would take that time and effort to take a local couple. And and make them feel so special. For them, knowing what huge fans they were. I was pretty impress odd. Levi stadium is going to be forever engrained in sarah and scott. When we go back. There will be a little bit of the memory. We can be at levi stadium. 20 years ago and be in the spot. Have our kids at the spot. We will go back there and get to relive it a little built every time that we go back there. Senate stadium will probably be around longer than we are. Raiders fans had much to cheer about. Stunning their rival as cross the bay. I am feeling great. What oakland needed. You know. For us. The rader fans. A clear Law Enforcement presence mixed in with the raiders and niners fans. We love it. Battle of the bay. Love it. We love that. Fan violence has broken out between the games. Candlestick. After games. There have been hype arrest numbers in the past. In oakland tonight. Pretty well today. Real large crowd. Busy, you would expect. 52, 53,000 people here. But on the whole, i think a lot of people had a good time. Deputies did break up a few fights. There were some arrests. Total numbers not in yet. But the mood in the parking lot before the game. Many niners and raiders fans. Keeping their rivalry on the field. Niner fans. Raiders fans have been the biggest rivalry. We have been having fun tonight. The Sheriffs Department saying they may have solid numbers tomorrow. Have to say, the game was letting out. A lot of niner fans, Walking Around. Wondering what went wrong. You can see, police mixed in with demonstrators. An occasional sign up there. Demonstrators, off 24. Down one of the off ramps there. The traffic jam that created you. Can see the Law Enforcement presence out there, again. Highway, 24, eastbound. And, some arrests, according to the golden gate chp, a tweet from them, said an explosive thrown at officers gas has been deployed. We are frying to stay on top of it the best we can. Looking at it from the helicopter shot. You see the arrest again right there. Officers with two people down on the ground. There was one earlier as well. Most of the demonstrators. The same story. Most of the demonstrators peaceful, marching. Civil disobedience. Again, according to the chp, an explosive thrown at officers. Gas deployed. Arrests being made. You can see the Massive Police presence there in the east bay. The clairmont. Two roads right there. See, police, right there. Responding more and more of them coming down on to the highway. Imagine the traffic situation. If any body trying to get away from that game. For whatever reason. Theyre still in the area. This is causing a huge shut down. As you said. Demonstrations lasted until early this morning. Earlier today, the destruction could be seen in several berkeley neighborhood. Police and residents they had cars vandalized. Windows broken.
