The reported sale comes ahead of a tuesday nba hearing aimed at ousting Donald Sterling from the league because of racially insensitive remarks he made. Donald sterling vowed to fight the nba to keep the team. An attorney for sterling tells nbc hes not agreed to sell the clippers at any price. Shelly and Donald Sterling each own 50 of the team. More than 100 lawmakers from both parties now want the firing or resignation of Veterans Affairs secretary Eric Shinseki. One Administration Official says hes on thin ice with president obama. Hes speaking today to a group of coalition homeless veterans, another opportunity for him to explain why he should keep the job. Today, va secretary Eric Shinseki speaks publicly for the First Time Since the vas Inspector General found 1700 vets in phoenix havent even been placed on the official waiting list for an appointment. More than 100 lawmakers, democrats and republicans, now want shinseki to resign. Shinsekis lobbying to stay, meeting with democrats on capitol hill and veterans. They gave the appearance that they got the message. Hes a bad Public Affairs officer. Reporter the white house says president obamas reserving judgment until the Inspector Generals full report is in. He believes there ought to be accountability once we establish all the facts. Reporter some vets are defending the agency. Theyre not against you. This system is just it is turning too slowly. Reporter now, there are other problems, private doctors turning vets away, because it is taking too long to get paid. The reimbursement was often months and sometimes even longer. Reporter more issues with the system that is now under the microscope. And, of course, shinseki is under the microscope now. Hes still got support for now from the top democrat and republican on the house side here on capitol hill. But as for the veterans groups, the American Legion initially called for him to go, hes met with them. They have expressed sympathy in support for his service. Snowden told nbc news Brian Williams exclusively that he tried to go through proper channels before leaking u. S. Intelligence data and claimed the nsa has proof. And seven days after nbc first asked about snowdens claim, the nsa released one email snowden wrote to a lawyer, only weeks before he stole classified documents and fled.
