A sheriffs deputy in mesa county fighting for his life after being shot in the line of duty. This is derek geer. Hes been with the department ffr 15 years. Now hes in critical condition. Deputies say he was trying to arrest a 17yearold when the teen took off. Derek geer used his taser and the suspect pulled out a gun and shot multiple too manies. Well continue to check on how this deputy is doing. the search is on for the driver of a brown pickup truck that may have run over a man in adams county, killing him. State patrol says a man was found lying in the middle of the street at pecos and 26th in adams county. Police say the driver didnt see him.
