But garcia said he saw the victim reaching for something, before opening fire. He told the dispatcher his gun was jammed and requested medical help for the injured man. Police interviewed a number of employees and customers who were inside the starbucks at the time of the shooting they all identified garcia as the gunman. Garcia also denied having a gun and a cell phone, although police recovered a weapon at the scene.
