According to 21st century fox, oreilly denies the merits of all the claims. The author and host posting a statement on his website, writing, just like other prominent and controversial people, im vulnerable to lawsuits from individuals who want me to pay them to avoid negative publicity. Abc news has not independently verified the information the times claims to have uncovered. The times reporting in 2011 oreilly settled with former fox business channel host, Rebecca Gomez diamond, for 1 million. Before that, the previously reported lawsuit filed by a show producer. Andrea mackris. The New York Times now reporting that oreilly agreed to personally pay her about 9 million. And that both parties agree in the settlement that no wrongdoing whatsoever had occurred.
