Lets start out with those devastating scenes still playing out in texas. You see those floodwaters rising above 54 feet and horses stranded on a porch. Helicopters delivering food to them overnight. You have family in texas. My parents are down there and have been affected by it in houston and trying to stay inside and hopefully everybody who is affected is staying safe. It is not over yet. We have politics this morning. Brandnew National Poll shows a tight race for the white house. You see it right there. Hillary Clinton Holding a slight lead over donald trump. Hes now facing new questions about Trump University and lashing out at the media accusing reporters of treating him unfairly. Abcs tom llamas was there at the press conference on tuesday and joins us now with much more. Good morning, tom. Reporter robin and george, good morning. Donald trump telling the press exactly how he feels but also a san diego judge hes not happy with. The judge just ordered documents released in a Trump University lawsuit where recruiters knew many of the potential customers may not have the funds to cover the schools tuition fees. Overnight, donald trump raging on following a fiery News Conference where he took on the press. A big portion of them especially the Political Press are the most dishonest people. Theyre bad people. Reporter back in january, trump claimed he raised 6 million at the iowa event including a million he personally chipped in. We just cracked 6 million, right . 6 million. Reporter but Trumps Campaign manager recently suggested the total amount raised was closer to 4. 5 million. And trumps own Million Dollar contribution, it was only made last week. Trump showing a photocopy of the check. Mr. Trump, writing a Million Dollar check is incredibly generous but the night of that iowa fundraiser you said you had raised 6 million. Clearly you had not. Your critics say you tend to exaggerate. You have a problem with the truth. Is this a prime example . No, i raised almost 6 million. Some of it didnt come through but more money is coming through than didnt come through. The number of probabilities is going to be over the 6 million. Reporter but that question seemed to strike a nerve. Because three minutes later, trump said this. Im not looking for credit. But what i dont want is when i raise millions of dollars, have people say like this sleazy guy right over here from abc, hes a sleaze, in my book. Why . Youre a sleaze because you know the facts and know them well. Because i ask fair questions. For months he would not reveal the full list of those who received money. He claims he was vetting them and tuesday he read a long list of those he says got checks. Project for patriots, 100,000. Reporter abc news reached out to all 41 groups and spoke with most of them. Some told us they received the money months ago. But others say they only got it last week. And this morning, trump dealing with a new problem. Documents released in one of his Trump University lawsuits show employees of the university had a playbook instructing them on how to entice Prospective Students to enroll in its real estate seminars by saying, quote, you know who my boss is, right . Mr. Trump is on a mission to create the next wave of independently wealthy entrepreneurs in america. And potential students were also asked by recruiters if they have Retirement Funds or credit cards to cover the cost. Trump has disputed the allegations and lately firing back at the judge. The judge has been very unfair, has not done a good job. Reporter documents released on tuesday instructors describe themselves as hand selected by mr. Trump but those claim that was not the case and trump is facing a similar lawsuit here in new york related to the school. The billionaire said hes not settling because he knows he will win these lawsuits, george. Okay, tom, thanks. Just for the record you are not a sleaze in our book. Good to know. Okay, tom thanks very much. Hillary clinton took off on trump using his tactics and hit back hard on veterans but faces a tough battle against Bernie Sanders in california. Hillary clinton heads to california today where the race is closer than ever but first she also is jumping in on the Donald Trump Bashing saying he shouldnt get much credit for raising and donating that money to vets. This morning, Hillary Clinton ripping a page straight out of Donald Trumps playbook going after her opponent on twitter. Hes a war hero because he was captured. I like people who were not captured. Reporter taking him to task for his comments on veterans and then taking to the airwaves for round two of her assault. The problem here is the difference between what donald trump says and what donald trump does. Hes bragged for months about raising 6 million for veterans. But it took a reporter to shame him into actually making his contribution. Reporter clintons allies not letting up either. Going after trump online. Virginias two senators both democrats sending these virtually identical tweets saying Hillary Clinton is the only candidate with a comprehensive plan to support our veterans. But with a tight primary race in california, clinton is now headed to the golden state today for a lastminute swing ahead of voting there. Bernie sanders crisscrossing the state drawing huge crowds. This is a very loud crowd. [ cheers and applause ] reporter clinton received a key endorsement from california governor jerry brown saying in an open letter, the stakes couldnt be higher. This is no time for democrats to keep fighting each other. The general election has already begun. And a sign her campaign is feeling nervous about california, clinton canceled Campaign Stops in new jersey and is now heading to california instead but even if she loses there she almost certainly has enough delegates to clinch the nomination. Matt, let me begin with you. In yesterdays press conference that tom was at pretty time honored tactic for president ial candidates to go after the press but did it help trump yesterday . Well, i think hes trying to stop the bleeding in the course of this, the question surrounding this, i think donald trump just like Hillary Clinton knows that his greatest vulnerability in this race is if his business experience and private actions are undermined in the course of this race, its why he won the primary, being a businessman and he knows if that is undermined in the course of this, pushing back on it, he is in real trouble if that is undermined. New front, Trump University documents coming out and the new York Attorney general saying hes going after it full bore. The trial in california not until november but trump also going after the judge in that case. Hes not only going after the judge but after the lawyer, hes going after everybody involved in that trying to taint them with the idea theyre partisan, this is not really objective. This is not what they should be focused on in the course of this. Again, i think he really understands which is why hes in this embattled place if hes undermined on Trump University or other businesses or casinos or Something Like that he really loses the sort of asset that he won this race with and he knows this in the course of this. I think Hillary Clinton will prosecute this part of this for the next five months and he will try to defend it the rest of the way. Meantime, tom, youve been covering trump for a long time. What you saw is a lot of what youve been seeing for the last several months. Hes not going to change. Thats right. It comes with the territory. You have to have thick skin when you cover donald trump but its a strategy thats worked for him up until now. The question is will this work through november . A criminal investigation is now looking into how the little boy fell into the exhibit. Reporter this morning Cincinnati Police confirmed they have now opened a criminal investigation into the 3yearold boys parents and family regarding the actions that led up to the incident and asking anyone who may have recorded the ordeal to contact police. Mommy loves you. Im right here. Reporter officials have not confirmed the identity of the mother heard comforting her son from above while he was in the enclosure. The 450pound harambe grabbing the boy at one point even dragging him all the way to the other side of the cage after ten agonizing minutes the zoos Emergency Response team making the decision to shoot and kill the 17yearold gorilla to save the boy. Zoo officials arguing a tranquilizer dart would have taken too long. Milliseconds make a difference in life and death. You have a choice, everybody. You have a human being or gorilla alive today. Its a nowin situation. Reporter this morning new details about past incidents at the zoo, at least six reported safety violations since 1990. Animal act vis slamming their safety measures. The physical barriers are not adequate to keep people out of the enclosures. They are working to determine what can be done to prevent this from happening again. Our cameras capturing crews already making changes to the barriers are at the gorilla exhibit. Were learning about the boys family. His mother works as a manager at a Daycare Center here. But when you look at how contamination and illness takes place in the kitchen, its often eating something raw that should be cooked so raw cookie dough, you know, that was always a problem from the eggs in there. Thats a possibility and then cross contamination in the kitchen if youre using flour did it get on a surface. When they went to clean it up, that contaminated something eaten raw . The signals from the black boxes of egyptair flight 804 may have been located. Egyptian Authorities Say a french ship has picked up signals in the mediterranean that are presumed to be from the black boxes of the plane which crashed on its way from paris to cairo last month. Those boxes believed to be in 10,000 feet of water and investigators are anxious to retrieve them in hoping to find out whether an explosion or technical problem brought down the flight killing all 66 people onboard. Dramatic video from the escalating violence in syria. An infant was rescued from the rubble of this building after a series of air strikes including one near a hospital. Children are among dozens of people reportedly killed. Russia denies any involvement in the air strikes. Well, it could be the largest data breach ever. These are explosive new photos of amber heard in People Magazine this morning. Doubling down on her accusation that johnny depp physically and mentally abused her allegedly going back years. This morning, a new bombshell from amber heard in a People Magazine cover story that hits newsstands today. People obtained new pictures of what heard says are a bruised eye and cut lip from an alleged incident that she says took place in december 2015, months before her split with depp. People said in the Court Documents she alleges during the entirety of her fouryear relationship with the star johnny has been verbally and physically abusive with me coming on the heels of this photo which she claims was taken after an alleged assault by depp on may 21st two days before she filed for divorce and claims the star hit her in the face with an iphone and theres this photo of depp with an injured hand taken in march of last year while he was filming the latest installment of the pirates of the caribbean franchise. Sources tell e. T. It wasnt from filming but punching a wall during a fight with heard. Depp reportedly had to go back to the states for surgery. Some of his supporters insist heards fabricating the abuse case in an effort to blackmail depp into a huge settlement. Tmz quotes unnamed security guards who told them they heard her scream at depp to stop hitting her but that depp was more than 20 feet away from her. And what about the lapd which responded to a disturbance at the couples home but reportedly saw no evidence of any crime. Heards lawyer tells abc news in a statement she declined to make a statement to the police in an attempt to protect her privacy and johnnys career. The lawyer accuses the depp camp of infecting the media with vicious, false and malignant accusations. We took the high road, the statement goes on. Amber is simply a victim of Domestic Violence and none of her actions are motivated by money. No comment on the people story from the decide but a representative for depp has been saying from the start given the brevity of this marriage and the most recent and tragic loss of his mother, johnny will not respond to any of the salacious, false stories, gossip, misinformation and lies about his personal life. We see the photos and we just heard david wright say depps camp will not respond but how do the photos themselves change the legal situation . Well, it certainly can be very significant. I think on several fronts, one, she has filed for this temporary restraining order granted by the judge and in that order she said that she had at least two different incidents of assault. Now were hearing more incidents of assault and so that is going to, i think, firm up her claims in that proceeding but, secondly, there is that divorce settlement and although in california its a Community Property state which means she would get half of anything, any income that he brought in during their marriage, the 15month marriage this could have significant financial implications for johnny depp and i really think last but not least, theres the possibility of criminal charges. We are now hearing about not one, not two but three possible incidents of assault, Domestic Violence, that would be a criminal problem for johnny depp. So you add all that up and does that increase the motivation for the depp side to settle . No question about it. No question about it. This is not a case that johnny depp wants out in the court of public opinion. This is a case that he should want to put to bed as quickly as possible. There is a growing outrage against the parents, the mother in particular who was there and people are saying that they should be criminally charged. Could that happen . Well, look, under ohio law, it is a misdemeanor to endanger children. What does that mean . It means that you basically create a substantial risk for the health of a child by failing them in a duty of care. I dont think thats going to happen in this case. I spoke with the eyewitness, kim oconnor whose video you saw. She was standing right there when it happened. I talked to her last night. She said the authorities havent even talked to her and when i talked to her, she said she did not think this mother was negligent at all. She said she just turned around for a few moments to deal with her other kids and turned around and her child was in the enclosure. She doesnt think the mother should be charged at all. Theres a lot of public opinion. A massive story and we have a tweet from our social scroll from ina who says the mother should be fully charged with negligence of a child. What was she doing at that time . Im just curious being a legal analyst will the public outcry have any effect on the investigation. Yeah, well, i dont know how inna knows what happened at that moment but it is because of the public outcry the authorities are saying theyre investigating it as a possible crime. I think without it there would be no, quote unquote, investigation at all. But it has. Its lit up social media and people absolutely. Talking about it. For everyone out there trying to lose weight, we have in our weight loss win series fitness expert anna kaiser that works with big stars like you might have heard of shakira, sara Jessica Parker and all of you and shes sharing her top tips to jumpstart your journey and keep off the pounds. Welcome. Thanks for being with us. Excited to be here. You have three quick tips, lets start with the first one. What should we be doing . First one, do more cardio. Make sure you get your heart rate up. Elevate it and keep it elevated for an extended period of time. How long . It depends, 30 minutes is great if you can do that on a daily basis, 45 minutes is extra, extra, extra work. You can add more weights to make it hdebut use a heart rate monitor. That is the best way to keep you accountable to know how hard youre working and to make sure your heart rate is actually elevated. Some people think theyre working hard and once they put the heart rate monitor on theyre not working that hard. I can tell you i feel extremely lazy right now standing right next to these guys working hard. We have a twitter question from darlene who says, i have about nine pounds to lose. Im a healthy eater and work out three times a week. She just cant lose that last nine pounds. Its sump a common issue. What can she do . Yes, absolutely, so we have 168 hours every week. Youre only active for three of them. That leaves a lot of hours behind a desk or sleeping. So more cardio . No, you just need to get active. Doctors say get your heart beating out of your chest 30 minutes a day. Take the stairs instead of the elevator. Take the stairs instead of the elevator. Stay active and make it efficient. If you only have 30 minutes get your heart rate up. You can do that with cardio, with weights, with flexibility and yoga but really try to do something every single day. Dont just leave it to three days a week. And then eat smaller meals all throughout the day. I know you have another tip for keeping that weight off. What is it . Yes, lift more weights. So definitely use heavy weight. Use something thats challenging for you. You should lift a weight that then gets your heart rate elevated because its that hard to lift it. The more lean muscle you have in your body, the faster your metabolism every single day. Because theres always a debate reps versus weight. Youre saying pick up the heavier weight. Pick up a heavier weight, definitely. You need to do that to create lean muscle mass and increase metabolism. It should be challenging so, again, heart rate monitor helps us. Another twitter question. Its very hard to work out when healing from a broken neck, lower back. Im just trying. Just wish my body would cooperate. What can she do to work out safely . Well, the first thing you need to do is get healthy so i wouldnt focus on working out right now. You really want to focus on rehabbing your body, getting healthy and then taking it slow. Walking into it one step at a time. Maybe starting in a chair, working with your physical therapist and coming at it from a healthy perspective. Okay, and then one more twitter question. One more from cynthia. She lost 65 pounds. Congratulations. Awesome, cynthia. Just by walking and says im at a standsill. I have a plate and screws and arthritis in my spine and hip and wants to know how she can keep going. Keep it low impact. Dont push it too hard. Think about what youre eating and how youre eating, as well. Small meals all throughout the day instead of three large meals. Eat healthy live foods. Try to cut out anything processed, sugar from a box and that will help rev up your metabolism as well, but you can lift weights without doing any impact, and that will elevate your heart rate and start burning more calories. I know it sounds like theres a lot going on and how do i program it but, guys, there are so many options right now. The experts are programming it for you, and you can go online. I have a streaming membership with over 1,500 minutes of workouts so you can do it at home. We can look just like you. You dont have to think about it. Exactly. Okay, anna, thank you so much. We actually worked for the organization stop hunger now and we did a friendly competition against the young hungry cast and filled i think close to 10,000 meals for those in need in cambodia so amazing thing to be a part of and i also have to say a shoutout to the babies from the show. I watched this. It is a powerful movie. This is a woman who has Breast Cancer but the movie is about so much more than that, yes . So much more. This relationship that she has with her son. Her strength, her light. There is so much love in the film. There are scenes that, of course, theyre going to hurt when you watch them, but we wanted to be honest about it. As a survivor watching it, i felt it. It brought me right back. Tell me about magna. The woman you portray. Well, i just fell in love with her when i read the script. When the moment when the doctor tells her you have cancer and youre going to start the treatment tomorrow, she has the most bizarre reaction. She what happenses to know if she can keep her hair appointment. I have a hair appointment. Should i cancel or should i go . He says, go. How somebody reacts when you hear this news, you just want to go on with your normal life. You want things to be normal. Normal. You want to do your Little Things that you have planned with your family. Its beautiful and this is not a spoiler in terms of the plot because after her diagnosis, magna finds herself pregnant, and we want to take a look at the scene where she films a message to her daughter. [ speaking a Foreign Language ] you are a mother. This had to have such an impact on you as you were portraying her speaking to this future child, she would most likely never really get to know. Yeah, no, that was heartbreaking. Shooting those scenes, i would have not understood the character the same way a few years ago. For me this scene that we just showed is one of the most beautiful scenes in the movie because shes talking to the future, no, to what this baby represents and shes saying we are alive because we are together. We are alive because of our love and because were fighting this together. Its really beautiful. I know. Its about fighting cancer but also living with it and living while youre fighting.
