It will continue to sink to the south of us. Our friendly nemesis High Pressure continues to build in, bringing once again perhaps the 14th day of recordhigh temperatures around the bay. 40s and 50s to start out. 60s by noontime, near 70 for some of you in the afternoon. A cooler day at the coast but we are talking about much cooler weather and rain headed our way for the second half of the week. Ill have that for you coming up. Carolyn. Thank you, lisa. Police are investigating a homicide. They responded to the report of a stabbing on sun crest avenue around 1 30 this morning. They found a man with a stab wound. He was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead. He has not yet been identified and no word yet on suspects or arrests. Developing news out of San Jose State University where two sexual assaults occurred on campus within hours of each other. One happened before 7 00 last night and the other at 9 20. University of police say the same man came up behind the victims touching them inappropriately. Hes described as a white man between 20 and 30 years old with a mustache wearing a black hoodie and pants. He left the scene of both incidents riding on a bicycle. Both victims who are students were not harmed. Police say a man was found around 7 30 last night around Los Angeles Valley College and had been shot. He has not yet been identified. They arent sure if he was shot in the truck or another location. There was were no classes or School Activities going on at the time. No word yet on any an antioch man is recovering from a pit bull attack that injured him, his wife and their two dogs. John suffered a severe hand wound. His dogs have deep puncture wounds and muscle tears. He said the attack happened when he and his wife were walking their dogs last week. According to police, three pit bulls jumped a neighbors fence. They immediately charged, circled, got in position and started drawing blood. Just started attacking. Wadsworth used a pocketknife to drive the dogs away. The pit bulls are now in quarantine. Wadsworth asked that they be euthanized. The attack happened just yards from a preschool. San Francisco Police are defending the use of deadly force by an officer yesterday morning after they say he was charged by an aggressive pit bull mix. The dog, nicknamed psycho, had been in the pound twice not because he was vicious but because his owner had been arrested for trespassing. Neighbors are aware of the dogs reputation. He always on a leash . Yes. Always. Sometimes he was overaggressive, yeah. Were you afraid of the dog. If he wasnt on a leash, yes. The dogs owner was arrested after he was found living in a vacant Apartment Unit with that dog. Police want to know if psycho was trained to attack. Also in San Francisco, police are trying to figure out the details surrounding a dead body found inside a car. Police were called to the intersection of 17th street and treat avenue just before 12 30 yesterday afternoon. They found a body in the back seat of that black s. U. V. It has utah plates. Investigators arent saying how or where the victim died. A Memorial Service will be held today for a 14yearold girl who died after being hit by a light rail train. Danica garcia was riding her bike to Delmar High School on in san jose on january 17th when she was hit while crossing the vta light rail tracks. A witness said danica was wearing headphones and the arms at the Railroad Tracks did not come down. The Sheriffs Department is investigating. Todays Memorial Service will be at 2 00 at willow glen funeral home in san jose. We now know the name of a boogey border that crashed after died after crashing into rough rocks in santa cruz. Our media partner, the San Jose Mercury news, reports the 47yearold man died after smashed against the rocks by huge waves friday near the santa cruz lighthouse. An autopsy is scheduled for sometime this week. Thousands of abortion opponents rallied in San Francisco for the tenth annual walk for life. A massive crowd walked down Market Street carrying signs that said defend life and Women Deserve better than abortion. A supervisor introduced a resolution a couple weeks ago opposing the abortion hurts women banners that they hung on Market Street. They say its free speech. A good reminder that every year a lot of people in this country love life and love babies. Its important that women have a choice and we can only go forward. We cant go backwards. A coat hanger will never be any only option. Prochoice supporters gathering there. It marked the 43rd anniversary of roe v. Wade, the u. S. Supreme Court Decision that legalized abortion. A New California law meant to protect people from foodborne illnesses have some in the culinary industry fighting back. Workers are now required to use disposal gloves or use utensils while handling certain foods. We have more on the growing opposition to this law. Reporter at lefty odouls in San Francisco, the bartenders have already started wearing the required latex gloves. This bartender is not happy about it. They are for the operating room, for babies being delivered, but not the bar. New regulation took effect january i. Its intended to protect customers from foodborne illnesses. Some chains like subway already use gloves in their food handling, but the new law will include chefs and even bartenders. A little insulting, almost, being a professional and having done this for a long time. I feel like people in my industry and especially at this caliber of restaurant we definitely maintain our cleanliness standard. Katie anderson pours dozens of drinks within minutes. The coowner of the restaurant has signed an online petition to exempt bartenders from the new regulation. One of her customers is a nurse at Kaiser Hospital in oakland. She said gloves are meant to protect health workers, not to prevent the spread of disease among patients. Gloves are never a substitute for washing your hands and using a hand sanitizer, and i would be interested to see what studies they have linking the wearing of gloves and spread of disease in food handling situations. Businesses can try to get an exemption. It involves working out strict protocols with local agencies that will enforce the law. We continue to shatter records around the bay with january winding down and its looking a little bit more promising toward the end of the month, the end of the week that we see rain. Live doppler 7hd and high clouds around the bay. We start out milder this morning due to the high clouds. And this afternoon it will thin out and we will see probably our 14th consecutive day of record warmth around the bay. There have been at least 74 daily records for the bay area and the central coast. Heres the area of low pressure thats bringing us the cloud cover. Its off the Southern California coast. It continues to spin up the cloud cover mainly for Southern California. San jose has some clouds. We will look for High Pressure to build back in and this is going to allow for more warmth. But the wind shift will bring cooler temperatures today at our coast. Here are the clouds in san jose. Temperatures ranging from a mild 51 in oakland, 54 San Francisco. San jose already up to 52. Half moon bay 55. Redwood city in the mid40s. Heres our cloudy beach in santa cruz. It will be 69 later on this afternoon there. Temperatures ranging from the low to mid40s for much of the north bay. Our east bay valley. 46 concord and livermore coming in at 47 degrees. Our east bay hills shows the cloud cover, some haze, but it is not a sparetheair day today. Partly cloudy and cool with more sunshine in the afternoon. But the wind shift will bring an on shore flow to the beaches so cooler there and then the High Pressure ridge is going to give way and by the time we get to wednesday we will see more cloud cover and by thursday the rain is up along the north coast. 4 00 in the afternoon we are looking at cloudy skies around the bay and the steady progression of some showers from thursday night into friday. We are talking maybe a quarter inch to a third of an inch. Looks like this right now. Then by the afternoon it sweeps on out of here. Maybe some showers down around Southern California. Sierra nevada, yeah, maybe just a little something. Not anything significant, but it could change the pattern. We would hopefully look for maybe more areas of low pressure and westerly winds to bring some more we can weather systems or stronger weather systems our way. I will take whatever we can get. Look for 70s in the south bay. Mid60s in pacifica. A little cooler here in the sunset. Mid670s, partly cloudy north bay, 07 petaluma, 68 hayward and over the hill low 70s. And the accuweather sevenday forecast, we are still mild today. A little cooler and cloudier each and every day but fog in the morning and still mild by wednesday. Thursday we will see some rain by late in the day. Into friday. And then cooler into next weekend.
