Weve got the morning downpours and by this afternoon well have scattered showers, very windy conditions with 60mileperhour gusts possible in the Higher Elevations. Were expecting anywhere from a quarter of an inch in parts of the south bay to an inch and a half in some of the heavier locations like the north bay. A wind advisory in effect until 1 00 this afternoon for the areas in yellow, all along the coast and parts of the east bay. Winds from the south 20 to 30 Miles Per Hour with 45mileperhour gusts possible. So the concern here, downed trees and Power Outages, get ready for that. It will be even tougher tomorrow. Its higher in the upper elevations, so high wind warning there where gusts can reach up to 60 Miles Per Hour. Up to 4 1 2 around the bay and possibly up to 6 inches in the Higher Elevations of the north bay. Of course, were keeping track of a couple of rivers that are expected to flood. Napa river, st. Helena, it will crest tomorrow, 4 00 in the afternoon. It will be above flood stage. So nearby areas will be flooded. Gurnsville, the Russian River will flood as well. Its expected to crest monday afternoon. It will be above flood stage tomorrow night. Moderate flooding expected in the area. Get ready for a wet and wild weekend with all the rain and the wind. Areas of heavy rain as well indicated by orange and red, especially in some of the Higher Elevations. San rafael tough drive along 101, where theres also limited visibility as well with some of the fog in the valleys. San francisco currently 50 degrees. Almost half an inch of rain this morning. Oakland 49 degrees. San jose, 52 degrees. And they havent had much rain yet, but there has been some very strong gusty winds in san jose. 39 Miles Per Hour. Also in half moon bay. Strong gusts throughout the day as well. On the storm impact scale, todays storm ranks a 2. We have downpours during the Morning Hours. By afternoon well see some showers still pretty heavy at times. Windy conditions as well. With gusts up to 60 Miles Per Hour. Especially in the Higher Elevations. And rainfall totals will range anywhere from a quarter of an inch to some of the rain shadow areas like the south bay all the way to an inch and a half in some of the north bay locations. Even a little bit more in some of the mountains. Theres a wind advisory in effect until 1 00 today. Winds from the south 20 to 30 Miles Per Hour. But gusting up to 45 miles an hour. The areas highlighted in yellow all along the coast and parts of the east bay, watch for downed trees and possible Power Outages today. In the Higher Elevations theres a high wind warning. And this is where gusts can reach up to 60 miles an hour, above 1,500 feet. That expires this afternoon for the north bay hills. East bay mountains and Santa Cruz Mountains, that continues through tomorrow morning. Now, get ready, on abc 7 storm impact scale, tomorrows storm is going to be a 4 out of 5. This major storm is something we havent seen in about ten years, or over ten years. So the heaviest impact will be between midnight to 10 00 a. M. Well just get pounded by heavy rain, and powerful winds. Its going to be continuous throughout the Morning Hours. Flooding and wind damage likely. So get ready for that. And try to avoid driving if you can. Heres some of the major concerns. Were looking for stream and creek flooding, thats a high risk. Debris flows over the burn scar areas where weve had the recent areas. Hydroplaning is likely as well. Thats why i suggest avoid driving especially tomorrow morning. A Flash Flood Watch that starts today. So the areas here in green, which is basically the entire bay area, were going to look out for streams and roadway flooding, debris flow as well. Especially through the Santa Cruz Mountains. And that koits through tomorrow night. Heres how it plays out. By midnight tonight, well see some of the heavier rain, the orange and yellow. The major storm continues. What youll notice is the red popping up nonstop through the Morning Hours, and then continuing past noon into the evening where we finally still see some scattered but heavy showers at times. Were also looking for rainfall to possibly reach a foot in the Santa Cruz Mountains, two to three inches in parts of the south bay, three to four around the south bay. As expected, rivers will be flooded. Napa rif above flood stage. Were keeping an eye in guerneville where the river is also expected to flood tomorrow night. And it will crest by 4 00 on monday.
