People in a berkeley neighborhood will be looking for contractors this morning maybe after a redwood tree hit by lightning explode. The 75foot tall redwood he tree is now about 20 feet high. It was during yesterday afternoons thunderstorms when the lightning bolt struck the tree. Debris was scattered over three blocks. One neighbor happened to be looking at the tree when Mother Nature paid that visit. It was like an explosion. It was literally explosion. It was like a bomb going off. Andrew finklestein disappeared yesterday in the castle peak back country near forest hill. The Nevada County Sheriffs Office says the 25yearold became separated from his companions when Stormy Weather set in. One berkeley neighborhood is cleaning up after a Lightning Strike brought down a huge tree. Abc 7 news is live with a look at the damage. Reporter i can report it is now raining in berkeley. Just started within the last few minutes. Another reminder of what happened yesterday. Lightning just in the last two minutes really lit up the sky here. Take a look at the tree that is left. It was originally about 75 feet tall. Thats all thats left. Maybe 20 feet in that sphere sticking up above the roof line. If you look at this minivan parked right in front of the house, Something Big fell on top of that. Roof totally caved in and the glass is shattered. This is the house that suffered the most damage. It is actually redtagged now, 1 of 10 homes that was affected by this incredible incident. If you look at the video, it had happened around 1 15 yesterday afternoon. The tree simply exploded. Neighbors say it sounded like a bomb and chunks of wood went flying over three city blocks. They shattered the windows of homes and did other damage. Really the biggest problem, it sent a huge scare through the neighborhood. It was literally explosion. It was like a bomb going off. It was violent and the shockwaves, i could feel it in my chest.
