Crews of work to put out a wildfire that started around 9 30 the southwest shore of lake and 128. 20 fire engines and six crews were called to fight the fire. 30 homes are under mandatory evacuation. No word yet on what started the fire. Developing overnight. Fire crews in hayward has contained a grass fire that broke out in the hills near east bay. They dont know what spark the flames that broke out just before midnight. The flames were throw moving so the crews were able to extinguish it in about 15 minutes. No injuries reported. New this morning, investigators are looking for the cause after fire that displaced eight people in brentwood. It started around 11 40 last night on sycamore each near a Senior Housing complex. Flames spread to the building consuming two apartments. Another two units were damaged by smoke. It took them 45 minutes to get the fire under control. Back to Solano County for another wildfire. Flames tore through a neighborhood destroying homes. The fire burned in the Small Community of collinsville just across the San Joaquin River from pittsburgh. Reporter the tackett family walked down the street of what used to be their community in collinsville. A wind whipped fire took eight homes t started around 1 30. We were grabbing fire extinguishers and water hoses as fast as the fire would spread, and it just started going to my house. And this is what is left of the tacketts threebedroom, one bath home that they were renting. It they say it started about 20 yards behind the house. It was windy. It was real windy. I come around the side of the house and seen the fire and i hollered fire, fire. The winds of more than 20 miles an hour picked up embers and ignited another fire a halfmile away. Thats the eighth home thats been destroyed. And if you can see it, the fire trucks are there right now putting it out. The red cross is housing the tacketts and their neighbors while investigators try to figure out the cause. Quick destruction with a combination of extremely hot conditions and high winds took firefighters 20 minutes to reach in the remote area. Abc7 news. The wildfire burning in napa county is now 65 contained. Its burned 4300 acres since breaking out on tuesday. Flames have destroyed two homes and seven other structures. Three people have been hurt. Evacuations have been cancelled. One man in oakland died and another injured after they were elect electrocuted. We had a report of people being injured. Heard gunshots and fireworks. We found two gentlemen down on the sidewalk in the street. It appears they were electrocute ed by a downed wire. It could have been gunfire, it could have been fireworks, which is investigating. The fallen power line also started a grass fire. The incident is under investigation. Two men were seriously injured by fireworks in sunnyvale. It happened just before 10 00 yesterday evening. One of the men lost several fingers. No word on either of their conditions this morning. [explosions] check this out. Kind of looks like a professional fireworks display, but its not. A viewer captured these illegal fireworks being set off last night in oakland san antonio neighborhood near 14th avenue and not too far away, the beef, who beefedup patrols in an effort to crack down on the use of illegal fireworks. Police have arrested a second suspect in the attack which happened on tuesday. Boy, arrested yesterday, is 16 years old. Police arrested his 15yearold accomplice tuesday. Detectives say either one or both of the boys sexually assaulted an 85yearold woman after breaking into her and her husbands home. Two then stole the couples s. U. V. One teen was caught after crashing the s. U. V. Into a garage a few blocks away. A vigil was held last night in san jose for a palestinian teenager who was kidnapped and killed. The burned body was found outside of jerusalem. His family believes his killing was in etaliation for the death of three israeli teens. Heres the scene. You see dozens showed up to remember the boy who had family in the south bay. Yesterday his body was released by israeli authorities and carried through the streets. Thousands of palestinians gathered to celebrate the boy, who they now call a martyr. New details and investigation into the murders of five women on the peninsula that happened nearly 40 years ago. Gypsy hill killings happened in San Mateo County in 1976. The fbi reopened the case after new evidence emerged link ago university of nevada reno Nursing Student to the crime. One person is suspected in all of the killings. Investigator revealed yesterday they are looking to a possible witness to the murders, a white male in his 20s or 30s who was in San Mateo County between january of 1976 and april of the same year. It is allowing for the Cool Temperatures. The afternoon numbers of that been a little bit on the breezy side with that on shore flow kicking up in the afternoon. Fog, and overnight today and this morning. The warming begins today. A little about the in our inland valleys and near 100degree heat arrives tomorrow inland into monday. Heres a look at our fog forecast. You can see it in the north bay from marin county over toward berkeley and alameda, the san mateo coast. And by about 9 00 it begins to fill in a little bit. 10 00, 11 00, we are looking at it more pushing back to the coast. So it has some rather typical, but as the High Pressure builds in from the Desert Southwest the warmth will come inland and we will look for the coast to remain cool. In fact, i think we will hold on to the fog for much of the day at our beaches. So the week ahead in livermore, last day of the week today with temperatures in the low 90s. Should be in the mid80s. You can see the slow climb and the warmest day monday. Maybe not 100 here but antioch and fairfield with the high temperatures coming into play. This habitat is precious stuff. It used to be that all of this was dunes. Much of this part of San Francisco was a do you know system. And theres very little of that left. In reality, this might be, probably is, probably as close as you will come to seeing a snowy clover out here today. There are only 2800 of them left in the world. Its very rare and a special moment to see a snowy plover in its habitat. I know people who have never seen one and worked here ten years. Some signs of elusive. This weekend will a be dry one for people celebrating at the new malonis reservoir. The lake is less than onethird full and one boat ramp is open. Officials had to rope off most access last month because water levels dropped below the edge of the ramp. That meant long lines as people had to wait to start their holiday on the water.
