Reporter family of both the suspect and officer vegas were here today, since officer vegas death last thursday, his family has been vocal in that they considered suspect robert vega like a son. Today we got our first look at him in court. Also for the first time in addition to seeing robert vega, we saw his sister, who is here with a family friend. They said they were here to support not only robert but the vegas family, as well. Vega is facing a murder charge with an enhancement involving the intensal use of a firearm that resulted in a death. Vega is also facing a kidnapping charge. When he was arrested, he had his 6yearold son with him. Also in court today was officer vegas daughter bianca and several Richmond Police officers. He did not deserve this at all. There is a handful of us here to support the family and to support the criminal justice system.
