Worlds of tributes along the procession. Hundreds of Community Members turned out to honor the man who gave his life service to the city. We have live team coverage. Abc 7 News Reporter chris winn will talk with citizens who showed up to pay their respects to officer johnson. Lets begin with david louie live at the sap center in san jose. David . We knew that officer johnson was a black belt in judo and jujitsu. We learned today that he made a mean cheesecake and touched lives in the San Jose Community in ways that few people knew. Brother and sister officers came from as far away from new york city to pay their respects. Through words and pictures officer johnson was portrayed as a loving son and brother. Chief escobel said a woman approached him last week. She was quiet before her son listened. It was that talk that changed her son for the better. She became interested in school with a no longer defy an the. That was michael. Johnsons patrol vehicle sat close to the stage. His coffin flanked by two honor guards at all times. Safety comes at a supreme price. That must always be remembered by a grateful state and her people. Johnsons family made her first public appearance at the funeral providing privacy as a greed. Dozens of people turned out this afternoon at the pub near highway 85 for a bbq. A silent auction and ralph. The fire burned part of the building next door and nobody was hurt thankfully. The pilot aboard a kcbs radio traffic plane was able to land the plane safely this morning. The traffic reporter said the pilot told him the greenish beam hit his eyes around 6 45 he believes it came from an Industrial Park in san ramon. This could be dangerous for pilots. The pilot is complaining of burning eyes and went to the doctor. He is okay now. The chp and faa are investigating. The board yearoverseeing caltrains, so far this year there have been ten People Killed on caltrains tracks. Only 10 last year, more than half of those were suicides. Caltrains has installed 18 miles of new fencing and elevated crossings. The board looked at Media Coverage of caltrains suicide saying it may spur copycat deaths. We cannot ignore the fact that there have been two ways of losses in palo alto in particular. It becomes suggestive. In response caltrans has installed suicide hotlines signs along their tracks. Referenced another academy he was the last officer killed in the line of duty in 1941. We lost another family member. Here we are in class three. Days before the crash, andreas lupis searched cockpit security and suicide. Marcy gonzalez tells us what the investigators found. New insight into the disturbed mind of the co pilot believed to have intentionally crashed Germanwings Flight 9525 in the french alps last week, they found a tablet, the Search History revealing in the days before the crash he looked up medical treatment methods, ways to carry out suicide as well as cockpit Door Security measures. Investigators also revealing today that after locking the captain out of the cockpit, he deliberately adjusted the planes speed and altitude guiding it into the side of a mountain. Details they hope to learn more about from the planes second black box found today buried and charred. The action of the pilots with the control and the different types of pilot of the plane, these elements are absolutely vital in order to find the truth. Still no explanation for how two european publications would have ended up with what they claim is video showing the final moments before the crash. The search teams say they have found more than 40 other cell phones at the scene. Badly damaged but being analyzed for possible clues. New at 4 30, there was action today on controversial religious freedom acts in indiana and arkansas. Governor Asa Hutchinson signed a revised version of the bill proposed earlier this week. Hutchinson requires lawmakers to change it because it discriminates against gays and lesbians. The new version sets the right tone. It does the three things i outlined. It protects religious freedom, establishes a framework for the balancing act for the courts to determine these types of cases. It recognizes the diversity of our culture and workforce. Indianas governor said hell sign a version of that act which he signed into law just last week. The new version passed by state legislators today prohibit Service Providers for using the law for refusing to provide services or accommodations. It also bars discrimination based on factors that include race religion Sexual Orientation and gender identity. The original law was widely condemned as discriminatory against gays and lesbians. One of the kidnapping victims in 1976 believes its time for James Schoenfeld to be set free. Schoenfeld has been in prison for nearly 40 years for kidnapping 26 children and their bus driver. That group spent 16 hours buried in a rock quarry in livermore, until they escaped. Larry park was one of the kidnapped victims he was only 6 years old back then. He battled severe posttraumatic stress since then. He believes its time for schonfeld to be set free. I told the parole board that his debt to me has been paid. Him getting out is not its i dont have an adverse reaction to it. But its still it was still a shock. Schonfeld, his brother richard and their friends each received life sentences. Richards was released in 2012. Woods remains in prison. His case still has to be review reviewed. The soonest he could be free is six months from now. Today is world Autism Awareness day, the hottest team in the nba will make history tonight as it gets ready to mark the occasion for the very first time. The credit goes in part to two east bay teenagers. Carolyn tyler joins us live outside oaklands oracle arena with the story. World Autism Awareness day was designated by the United Nations in 2008 and the nba has recognized it since then. This is the first big special night by the warrior ss these friends are the cat list behind the first ever Autism Awareness night hosted by the golden state warriors. We personally think that having this night allows people to think about autism and think about ways they can help. 17yearold jacqueline galob have volunteered with these organizations for the last couple of years. Jacqueline has been aware of the disorder all her life. Her older brother victor was diagnosed as a toddler. Victor attends San Ramon Valley high school where hes involved in a Transition Program that includes life skills. Hes inspired me every day to be happy and never give up on your dreams. With victor in mind the girls approached the warriors asking golden state to host an Autism Awareness night. As the hottest team in the nba the warriors are receiving lots of requests these days. Community ambassador and former player says this one was compelling. When two young ladies affected by this disease and their family come out and say, okay how could we bring more winners.
