Cornell bernard is live tonight with crucial new evidence. Cornell . Carolyn, you know, the gunman is still on the loose tonight, and very little is known about him. His target may have been a doctor at this medical office. No one was hurt, but the drama put schools and a neighborhood on lock down. 7hd was over the chaotic scene in daly city minutes after someone reported a man with a gun inside a medical office run by seton Medical Center. Police s. W. A. T teams swarmed the area. 60 employees along with patients inside were safely evacuated. A threehour search of the building turned up nothing. We have no victims. We have no suspects at this point. Earlier this evening bullet fragments were found on the second floor. The same area where a doctor reported seeing a man in his 60s with a gun. Minutes later heard a shot. The doctor did not immediately recognize this person. We are investigating if this person was known to anybody in the building. The doctor may have been the target, but a motive is unclear. Detectives rushed this man out of the building and into a patrol car. Sir, are you the one who heard the shot . Nearby south gate preschool went into lock down during the incident. The school did everything right. They didnt have to get a phone call. They saw something odd outside and they shut everything down and put the kids in a safe spot in one room. A School Blocks away was locked down. Parents got this call from the principal. The band concert for tonight, april 23rd has been canceled due to an emergency situation in daly city. It is unfortunate we have to can sell the concert, but it is for the safety of our parents and students. A suspect has not been found. In daly city, cornell bernard, abc7 news. New insight tonight from the father of that santa clara teenager about why he might have decided to climb into the wheel well of a commercial jet for a freezing and treacherous flight to hawaii. Abc7 news anchor ama dates is live with more on a local story that, ama, the whole country is following. They certainly are, dan. I am in front of the family home. A relative we spoke with says he believes the teen got into the wheel well of the plane because he was curious about his real mother. The family home of the 15yearold santa clara stowaway was quiet today. No sign of the teens father or step mother. We are hearing from a relative about the teens possible motive for crawling in the wheel well of the Hawaiian Airline plane. He has extreme loss for his mom. She is the step mothers cousin. He says the teen moved to the United States with his family several years ago. The boy only recently learned his father had remarried and his biological mother was living on the border of somalia and ethiopia. There was some conversation and i learned his dad knew his mother, but never expressed he wanted to jump over the fence. When the teen arrived in hawaii they say he was disoriented, thirsty and could barely walk. They describe Surveillance Video where his feet could be seen dangling before he jumped to the ground and collapse had. He said, quote, my mother and father are in africa. They raised him. He wanted to visit them not realizing the danger. He also said his son was struggling at school. The teen is still recovering from his ordeal in a honolulu hospital. Ama dates, abc7 news. A bof a boy stowing away on a plane. A 16yearold managed to sneak past security in 2010 and boarded a plane the same way. His mother says this recent incident hits close to home. He claims that he is the father of audrey potts and should be included in a wrongful death lawsuit. Audrey killed herself in 2012 after she was sexually assaulted at a party in saratoga. Three boys pled guilty and potts filed a lawsuit against the boys parents for monetary damages. He said he had an active role in her life until she was six. He is not out for the money, but he just wants closure. A troubling admission from the san jose fire department. It is arriving late to emergencies ranging from fires to rescues.
