Reporter natasha, such a frightening day for Lexington Elementary School. Yesterday they were put on lockdown after the suspect was seen running in the area and today they hve canceled all of the classes, they are concerned about the safety for the students and staff here. Because this bank robber is still on the loose and he is considered to be armed and dangerous. Now here is new video from this morning from the area he was last seen at around 2 00 this morning. This is alder kraft heights and Old Santa Cruz highway and a few hours later they believe the suspect this h broken into a home on weaver road and took a womans van at knife point. We spoke with the woman, she did not want to talk about the incident. We did speak with a neighbor stuck in traffic for several hours during the manhunt. Crazy things happen. And especially it was a big problem again many hours getting home. Reporter Law Enforcement had their weapons out and were searching in the mountains after he stole a van. We did not see any Law Enforcement searching in the mountain this is morning. We did reach out to the Sheriffs Office to get an update on their manhunt and they have yet to get back with us. The truck was carrying mail and packages and still no word on what happened to the damaged items. Niles canyon road between fremont and sonnol is closed again tomorrow. Crews plan to resume the search for jada jenkins, the 18yearold driver from tracy whose car crashed into Alameda Creek on saturday. Her car was pulled from the water on tuesday. Searchers found her personal belongings downstream. But not her. Investigators say she may have been able to get out of the car, a section of niles canyon road is closed tomorrow from 7 00 a. M. To 6 00 p. M. 680, 238 and mission boulevard are some alternative routes. And happening today, a new commute for folks in the east bay. Ferry Service Returned to berkeley this morning. We are live at the Berkeley Marina. This is a trial or a permanent thing . Reporter well this is a pilot program. So if it is suck is sesful, then the ferry operator could add additional rides on more days of the week. At this point, it is only launching on fridays at 7 30 and 8 30 a. M. With two return trips in the evening. All aboard for the first time in more than ten years. Public Ferry Service has returned to berkeley. A private Company Called tide line launched the vessel from the Berkeley Marina and cruised into San Francisco for the Maiden Voyage this morning. It drops passengers at pier 1. 5 and takes them back in the evening. There is no other Ferry Service here. And it is unbelievably close to take the ferry from here right into the downtown San Francisco. Reporter the ride takes about 25 minutes. It is a small vessel. But only holds up to 40 passengers. Larger ferries can hold 300 or 400. Yeah, it is a little it is not as smooth as the big ferries, but it still gets up on a plain and goes like 50 max so it is just as fast. It is just a little rougher. Reporter passenger matt smith doesnt mind the choppy ride. Were good. I [ inaudible ]. So it is a cattle car. Reporter terry chen would rather be on a ferry than a crowded b. A. R. T. Train or stuck in gridlock traffic. I work in the city and normally i drive. But traffic has been really bad recently so looking for alternative ways to commute and this is a lot less stressful. Reporter right now the Commute Service for the public is fridays only. Two trips in the morning and two return trips in the evening. It costs 8 each way. We took that Maiden Voyage this morning and it was a quick trip to the city. But it was bumpy, not as smooth as those larger ferries, i had to hold on a few times. But definitely a good option for a lot of people out there who dont want to sit in traffic. There is no radar returns, just that little bit of cloudiness i put on there to give you an idea of what is going on. This looks familiar. We saw storms lining up with the bright white cloudiness and taking it up to the north for the weekend and into early next weekend and that is why we finally have a stretch of sunshine and warm weather, finally getting back to average if not above. And look at this. See the flag right there. Next to golden gate, that is pointing out towards the ocean. That is an off shore breeze and that is why well have total sunshine and climbing highs today through the mild weekend. Umbrella, you need that on wednesday and thursday and friday as winter returns to the forecast and so do cooler conditions. Los gatos and morgan hill and vallejo in the 40s and everybody else around 50 to 55. Fairfield already 59 degrees. In fact, they are the warmest. Ill give you another degree or two. 60 to 62, while the rest of us are around 56 to 59 degrees the next several hours. This is the way the rest of the day is going to play out. We start at 2 00 in the p. M. Planner. About 53 to 58. 54 to 57, definitely need the sunglasses until the sun sets at 5 28 and it will drop quick lie into the upper 40s by 6 00 and then 40 to 47 degrees.
