Weinsteins wife elaine released a statement saying in part those who took warren captive over three years ago, their ultimate responsibility. I can assure you he would be alive and well if they allowed him to return home after his time abroad working to help the people of pakistan. Weinstein was abducted in pakistan in august of 2011. Giovanni was kidnapped in 2012. The president is promising a thorough investigation into what went wrong. I profoundly regret what happened. Contra costa county Fire Departments are dealing with a natural gas leak in antioch. The leak has been capped but the intersection of cannon and summersville remains closed. Crews hit a fourinch gas line while working in the area. A shelter in place is still in effect for People Living at the nisha toe mobile home park. Crews plan to lift that as soon as the air clears. New this morning a man was killed in an explosive house fire in mountain view. Abc 7 news was the first crew to arrive on the scene and captured video of what the firefighters were up against. That sound is ammunition exploding in the garage of the home on lola lane about 4 00 this morning. A man tells abc 7 news that the man who lived there was about 60 years old and spent time as a marksman and took part in shooting competitions. Neighbors tried to help get the man out before the firefighters arrived. One minute youre sleeping, and the next minute youre trying to save a guys life. It was like we were yelling as loud as we could. While firefighters were in the house a live wire came down. Also dealing with the flames and exemployeding ammunition. The victims identity has not been released. The search for a cupertino teenager continues at this hour to try to find the known nah Vista High School student. Have searchers found anything . Reporter not at this point. Today the search is focusing on the trails around Stevens Creek reservoir. The neighborhoods on the west side of town around the area where the teenager lived. 17yearold Conner Sullivan was last seen on monday. He showed up for class at monta Vista High School in cupertino but never made it past first period. He did not show up for track practice later in the day either. The family is worried and sheriffs deputies are all looking for him. So parents of classmates also showed up to help. Investigators do not suspect foul play but say his disappearance is suspicious. Its suspicious because its out of his character. He wakes up in the morning, goes to school. After school, goes to practice. He plays sports throughout the year, from track and field to wrestling. Right after practice he comes home right away. I had kids that attended monta vista. I feel for the parents. Having a child and not knowing where they are and wondering whats happened to them its an empty feeling. Reporter volunteers tell me yesterday they also spent most of their time looking in local malls and restaurants for some sort of evidence that sullivan had been there. His parents say their son does not have a carr or any credit cards with him. Deputies are in his school. You can see volunteers are mapping out the areas they want to cover throughout the day. A 7yearold boy is in the hospital with a life threatening injury after being hit by gunfire in va lay yeah. The gunfire broke out outside a gathering of 40 people attending a wake. The boy was standing on the sidewalk and was hit by a stray bullet. Police think five people were involved in the gun battle. They recovered at least 20 shell casings. Investigators are asking anyone with information to contact vallejo police. A wild chase in Sonoma County with a wrongway driver on highway 101, ends with the driver in the hospital. It started in windsor and ended in sebastopol at gravenstein and 117. Amy holly looet field has more. Reporter the woman is alive, in the hospital with life threatening injuries. Look at the scene behind me. It is still very active. Police are waiting for a search warrant so they can get inside the suspects car. Theyre also checking all these businesses here in this area to see if any surveillance cameras capture the incident. These businesses inside the crime tape on old gravenstein highway will not open today. It started last night when someone called to report a car going in reverse near highway 101. Deputies caught up with the car a few minutes later and the high speed chags began. They say the driver was at one point going at least 100 miles per hour. When she did stop, deputies say she refused to remember. As they approached the car she put it in reverse heading toward deputies hitting three of them. She was taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries. Business owners say they feel sad this happened here. Investigators say its too soon for them to say whether they stand by the deputies actions. Cant make any comment on whether or not it was justified or not. I can tell you there was an immediate danger to the public with the pursuit. We do know that deputies were knocked to the ground because of the actions of the driver. I think its a sad state of affairs when this violence can happen. I hope everybody will be okay. It sounds like it was a really bad experience for the officers and the person involved. This intense investigation is expected to take all day. Investigators are taking pictures from above the scene in the helicopter. Santa rosa police have their mobile crime unit up there. They still dont know whether this woman was armed, if she was under the influence. They say they have no idea why she was trying to escape police. They also dont know who she is. All we mow is shes a white woman. I said is she a teenager, grandmother . They said no shes in between. The deputies who were hit have been treated for their injuries and are expected to be okay.
