And i just took my shoes off, rolled up my pants and started digging through the sewers and taking all of the debris and then trying to put it on, frankly, higher ground. If there was anything. So how many drains did you clear . Seven up the street. Water rushed into multiple businesses on fillmore street. One of them was wilder. Its utter chaos. I mean, the floor is caked in mud and then underneath that, a layer of water, please watch your step as you come on in kingston, wu wilders managing partner walked us through where they believed the first wave of water came in. It actually entered through the back door of your business. Would be my guess first and then. And then as the water trickled down the street, it probably came through the front door as well too. Damages are hard to quantify, but wu says its in the thousands of dollars a hard hit for a business that just opened two years ago. The water kind of makes his way through the floorboards onto the walls, goes into crevices. I was just talking to my contractor, one of the things that were going to need to address is, is that mud likely drained into our in restaurant drains . And once the mud hardens , it could act like a cement block. The water main break is still under investigation. And now pgandes crews are working to turn off the gas in the area. So puc crews can make repairs as to when the sinkhole will be fully repaired, thats still unknown in San Francisco. Luis pena, abc seven news. All right. Thank you so much for that live report, luis. Abc7 News ReporterLeslie Brinkley shares the sights and sounds of those memorials. The phrase 911 evokes memories of a moment in our history when the world as we knew it changed forever. At fire station number 11in clayton, 343 flags marked each firefighter who lost a life due to the attack on 911. More flags were lately added for the Law Enforcement officers who died. Olander park not far from san jose state university, the Investment Firm thats purchased nearly 1 billion worth of Solano County farmland, is sharing its vision to build a city and how residents feel about it. Yeah, Flannery Associates released the results of a survey of 100 of hundreds of Solano County residents exclusively to the abc7. Iteam. Iteam reporter stephanie sear joining us live with the story that you will only see on seven. This continues just to get more and more interesting. It certainly does and these results just became public. The firm says over the past two years, Solano County residents have been surveyed and interviewed about a wide range of topics, including proposed ballot measures, discussing things like clean energy, sustainable infrastructure and affordable housing. Today we have a first look at those results after years of speculation as to what an Investment Firm would do with more than 55,000 acres of Solano County farmland colored in red on this map, the iteam gets a first look at the plans for a new city and how constituents feel about it. The following data comes from two scientific polls conducted in july and august this summer that combined contacted around 1400 residents via landline cell phone or online in multiple languages. The key findings from the july poll show voters are dissatisfied with the direction of Solano County and with the direction of ings in their area. 39 saying theyre mixed. 29 believe Solano County is headed in the wrong direction. Only 21 saying the county is headed in the right direction. An 11 dont know. The survey also found vots are worried about affordability for the next generation. An an overwhelming 81 of parents say they believe most kids in the county will not be able to afford to live in their current neighborhood when they grow up. Only 13 said they will with 6 saying they dont know. Among other things, voters indicated the county needs big changes to bring in more jobs, revenue and improve quality of life. And when it come to the issues most important, when voting for county officials, crime, homelessness and cost of housing top the list. While the survey results show an overwhelming level of support for change, local officials still have their doubts. Nobody wants it. 9,596 of the people i talked to dont even want to talk to them. They want them to go away. Flannery says eastern Solano County would maintain significant agricultural operation, but theyre interested in exploring new models that would combine solar farms with agriculture by having sheep graze under the solar panels. Thats a problem. Or it could be a problem with an air base because a reflection. But there are new solar panels that you can use on bases and some do. We know that pgandes does not have the power, the grid to hold up a new city. They cant even open some of our new car dealerships. The august poll found Solano County voters are more likely to support a project that brings in good, permanent jobs, protects the environment and delivers revenue for safety and education. According to the firm, the polls have a margin of error of approximately three and a half to 4 in 95 out of 100 cases, there. Results also pointed out any future project would protect and support Travis Air Force base, respecting the countys general plan, including the area that has a security buffer to protect operations around the base. So it will be interesting to see how the rest of the Community Responds to these results. Yeah, it sounds like they need to do a lot more surveys to include more people. Yeah, thanks, steph.
