But apparently, nobody told the jet stream that is dipping south from the arctic tonight, bringing with it the blast of frigid air. And the first snow of the season. All of this, the result of a typho typhoon, the biggest storm on the planet this year. Was the most powerful storm to hit alaska in decades and snow in canada. And now its barreling in the lower 48. At Calgary International airport, visibility down as the storm swallows the city. Driving there, also a challenge. Winter weather arriving early across the country. In california, this ski resort has gotten more than ten inches of snowfall. But in the midwest and parts of minnesota, they are expecting more than a foot of snow and plunging temperatures to start the work week. In wisconsin, salt trucks and plows already on standby. Last week, nuri battled the alaskan islands with winds up to 100 miles an hour. And waves at least 50 feet high. And the crews from the discovery channels deadliest catch struggling to stay safe. Dave, how much snow is this storm going to deliver . Its going to create the most snow so far this season. Of course the first significant snowfall. Its going to affect travel from montana, and across the dakotas and in minnesota, 6 to 12 inches could fall. Even here in the twin cities. Maybe as much as a foot and a half in the northern portions of wisconsin. A foot and a half, no joke. The bigger story is behind the snow. Absolutely. We are going to see the temperatures tumble tomorrow. Here in the upper midwest, we will have the freezing temps. The cold push, the plunge is going to go down the southeastern part of the country. At the body was discovered at noon today at the zeta psi house on bancroft avenue. Lillian kim is live from berkeley with developing details. Reporter members of zeta psi are not talking. Police says the dead 20yearold male was found in a room upstairs at the house. Officers say the man is nobody a member of the fraternity not a student at uc berkeley. They say he was one of the many attendees of the party thrown here last night. Police got the call about an unresponsive man just after 12 00 p. M. Today. Officers are erring on the side of caution and investigating the death as suspicious. He was found face down, and according to the blog, witness says vomit was found around he mans mouth. The fraternity is not officially recognized by the university. Students say they regularly throw parties which can often get very large. When its at its peek, anywhere from peak, 500 to 700, something around there. Theft big. Its a lot of space in there. One of the best buildings for parties for sure. Wow. Im shocked.
