Yeah I think so I think you know they it's kind of shocking given that one and 5 start but this color of a stick team actually still has a lot to play for in these last 3 games now that they want you know bounce back and won 3 straight going into this stretch they've got a you know there aren't just the rivalry trophies the ram Falcon trophy Saturday against Air Force in the Bronx next Friday against Wyoming but they're also and then the chance to beat Boise State for the 1st time ever. But not only do they have those things they've got a chance that you know when 2 of these they can get they will all game and you know somehow win all 3 of them and there's actually a convoluted outside chance they could win the mountain division title in play for the conference championship again that's that's going to be quite a reach for this Colorado State team I don't think they're good enough to win all 3 of those games but you never know and I think they are probably good enough to win at least one of the 3 in that that's probably what it's going to take in my mind for a coach like Bobo to be certain to be back next year I thing. They'll be a good argument made even if they lose all 3 and are competitive that you know there are some signs that things are going why there's a lot of young talent and I think they'll be an argument made to keep them but realistically I think he's going to have to win at least one of those 32 to be certain that he's going to be the Rams coach till next season Kelly Lyle joining us from Fort Collins Colorado Ok Kelly I've asked other people this and they're clean o.c. Issue related whatever but I'm counting on you to give me a give me an answer a straight answer of those 3 at this point is there one that sticks out above the rest that's a little bit more important that maybe if they win that game. That kind of carries a little bit more weight Well it's tough because realistically Boise State would carry the most well yeah that would be that's the best of these teams that's one but the problem is if that's the only one they were to win that would have meant they've lost the Air Force in Wyoming the last 2 or rivalry games they've done 4 straight years without beating either of those teams 5 years in a row without beating Colorado and I think the momentum is going to be just really tough to carry anything into that Boise State game so I think they're going to have to be there for certain Wyoming even have a shot at the Boise State finale and you know which one of those I think in general I think Wyoming is probably the more beatable opponent for the Rams but that game's going to be in Laramie and it's going to be a tough one no question about it I mean they're all going to be tough at this point I mean this is a crazy stretch for c.s.u. On the other hand if Colorado State can pull off one or 2 maybe and find a way to get into a bowl and win a rivalry game maybe when they win 2 rivalry games suddenly Kelly we're not really having the debate at all about Coach most future in fact we're saying wow how did he how did he turn this thing around midseason when it was starting to look a lot like last year. Well I think that would say a lot about his ability as a coach that that would be a very positive for why you would want to keep a guy around if he. Yet this you know if this team could could have kept its focus and kept doing the things it needed to do to turn around this season in the midst of you know one in 5 star losing your star quarterback losing your leading rusher with you know Marvin Kinsey's suspension and then removal from the team all those things you know there's a lot going against these rams right now and if they can somehow turn things around and you know let's finish finish with some wins it would be it would be huge and not just for momentum but but also it would speak pretty highly I think of his ability to rally the troops to coach this team and keep them focused where they need to be focused and in your Exactly right I mean it would kind of change the narrative a bit and all that aside Next up for this team is Air Force an air force is just they're just a great team and they this find ways to get it done they have that rushing attack that option attack the fullback dive they have all those unique I say unique but it's relatively simple but it just goes to show you how how you have to stay in your space you have to stay in your zone stay home and we say that on the outside but that's hard to do when you look at defenses because no matter what happens sometimes defenses their eyes get big they think they can make a play they're going elsewhere but it is so important to be a disciplined defense when you're playing Air Force it is and that's exactly how they beat teams as they get you get impatient you want to make the play you're certain that you know on this play the full backs going to get the dives and then the quarterbacks not going to keep it you just know what in your heart is a defender and opes all of a sudden you're wrong and now there's nobody to take the quarterback and he races 50 yards for a touchdown I mean it is that kind of thing you have to just know this is your man and no matter what this is what you have to play and you have to count on whoever's responsible for that fullback dive to get the ball back and whoever's responsible for the quarterback to get the quarterback into where. Responsible for the pitch man to be there to play the pitch man and if anyone of any of those people start trying to do something different than that that's when you get in trouble that's why the triple option works so well it takes advantage of overly aggressive play and really impatience on the form of the defense. So when you look at specifics I mean again you talk about things home and really you have to just trust everybody around you what are some of those may be specific to certain players that have to step up above and beyond this weekend in order for the Rams to have a fighting chance against Air Force Well again I don't know exactly how they've steamed up who's responsible for who or what was and I'm sure there are some variations depending on different formations their horse runs out of they don't run everything out of the old traditional triple option they give different looks to it now but I think guys 6 like you know Jamal Hicks is going to have to have a huge game and Logan Stuart the safety Jamal I think in particular in the past 2 years Colorado State has sort of used him as almost like even though he's a safety it's almost like another outside linebacker and really counted heavily on him to play the run he's good at playing the run he's kind of kept that pitch man under control or sometimes the quarterback under control but defensive ends are going to have to be really really good about making sure that they don't let that quarterback turn inside of them and and bust one loose downfield that the line you know you're your middle linebacker your nose guard whatever's got the ball back that is a quick hitting fullback dive that's why it works so well as they hit that hole so quickly that even if you know it's coming you're not always prepared for it and so I think you know there's a lot of different people that have to really do their jobs but I think Jamal Hicks Toby McBride Manny Jones defensive in jail and Bates those guys are all going to have to be really on top of their game and then in the middle of the defense on Jackson Max McDonald whoever is in there at that middle linebacker spot. I don't care if you're Baltimore and you just run all the time or you're the Broncos and you don't even know what kind of office you have he's going to work so potentially it's easier in my mind but the potential for greatness is a guy like all of us going on because you know Tyree kill those kind of guys can stick out number Devin Hester I mean how good of a return he was but also they utilized him in those you know drag routes than just kind of getting him on the lateral and then once he got the ball you see what can happen and he can move up and down the field so I mean those guys stick out in your mind.
