Many People Living in eastern iowa will see a raise in their minimum wage, starting today. The minimum wage in Johnson County was 7 dollars, 25 cents, which is the current state level. Now its nearly a dollar higher, at 8 dollars, 20 cents. This the first in a set of three planned minimum wage increases in the county. The second increase starts may 1st 2016. Dollars, 15 cents. Then in 2017, the final increase will take it to 10 dollars, 10 cents an hour. In september, the Johnson County board of supervisors passed an ordinance to raise the minimum wage. That means all businesses and employees in the county are subject to the change.
