In march, orth led two Police Officers on a car chase that ended with officers firing shots at him when he accelerated the car he was driving in reverse directly at one of the officers in an alley. Orth was wounded. The officers didinot face any charges. Orth pleaded guilty to drunken driving and two counts of eluding. He also pleaded no contest to a charge of interference with official acts. The judge dismissed a charge of a aault on a peace officer with a dangerous weapon. Orth will serve 90 days, and then get a 30 day break before serving another 90 days. Orths attorney also asked for a work release. Linn county attorney jerry vander sandedesaid he would accept the release as long as orth follows the guidelines. A judge resentenced a dubuque man to 50 years in prison for robbing a bar and shooting a Police Officer in 2009.
